Tom's POV

Mrs.Claire and I continued to sort the papers in silence. Apparently she had dropped the sheets whilst running up the stairs because the elevator was broken. And let me tell you, the walking up the stairs was hell for me. Mostly because I'm wayyyy out of shape, but video games are more entertaining than school. Or participating in physical education.

"Mom, can I try something on the piano?" A familiar edgy voice said, and I turned to see Mrs.Claire's son standing at the door, two girls at his side. One had red hair, the other had brown hair. Red-hair was dressed like any normal person, jeans and a shirt, while Brown-Hair was wearing some kind of get-up that vaguely reminded me of a Captain, from down at the docks. Weird.

"Later! I'm busy, you have eyes. Go bother Tom, he probably has some extra pastries." Mrs.Claire said passive-aggressively. There's one thing that sucks about a having common name, you're constantly running into people with the same name as you.

Jordan shrugged, just about to leave but I, being the nice person I am, cut in. "He can play the piano." Mrs.Claire looked at me with a sudden look of 'what the heck brat?' but didn't say anything because, hell, I like to talk. "We only have five minutes left and we're not even close to sorting this in enough time." Brown-Hair giggled and adjusted the ridiculous hat on her head.

"I suppose.... Just don't be too loud!" Mrs.Claire sent them a warning-glare but didn't object when they started screwing around with the piano, even though she seems annoyed as hell and cringed when one of the two girls hit aimlessly at the keys. "Who're they?" I asked. I remember when my mum thumped my head because I had asked 'too many damn questions'. Good thing she isn't here, I would have a dent from her handbag in my skull.

"Jordan's friends. Red-head is Aureylain, and the other is Capsize." I restrained myself from laughing at capsize. What kind of name is that? "He doesn't seem to be interested in hanging out with boys his age, so he hands out with girls. That's a bad habit to make." I inwardly rolled my eyes. She said 'girls' like it left a bitter taste on her tongue and glared at the two. It wasn't like they were wearing short-skirts, crop-tops, cosmetics, and we're trying to seduce her son!

After the girls had gotten their fill of pretending to know what they're doing, Jordan took out a lyric sheet from his pocket and started playing. A song called 'Old Doll', title via lyric sheet. Mrs.Claire clicked her tongue at the song choice, and started picking up the pace on sorting the papers. For some reason, she has single-ones instead of using a book, which is kinda odd. I'd imagine this has happen a lot.

"Who's that?" Alice asked, tugging on my sleeve to get my attention. Jordan was still hunched over the piano, fingers moving swiftly over the keys. "Mrs.Claire's son, Jordan." Alice tugged my sleeve again, pulling me away from Mum.

"Can I see?" She asked me, already pulling me towards the room. She knew I couldn't say no to her sweet-voice. It's so unfairly OP. "Sure" was I said, more like all I could say before we were all the way into the piano room, Alice at the side of the piano. Alice is attracted to whatever makes noise, so it's not surprising that she loves this.

Jordan just smiled at Alice but quickly looked back at the sheet. "You're learning how to do this?!" Alice asked in a quiet high-pitched voice. She still sounded fuzzy from her dentist appointment, 'got another cavity. I know it hurts like a bitch but she hasn't complained about it yet.

Jordan finished the song and Alice - being the nosy little girl she is - immediately started pulling me closer to the piano and basically making me hover over Jordan because she wouldn't let go of my damn sleeve. He didn't seem to mind though. Because he scooted over and let Alice crawl into the chair, and poke at random keys, pretending to know what to do. "Do you know how to play anything yet, Tommy?" How neither my teeth nor my skull cracked I do not know. I hate when they call me Tommy, it makes me feel like I'm five and a helpless child.

"Nope" I said, popping the 'p'. "Nothing really cool, anyways."

"Laaame. You better not be lying to me or I'll tell Mum you hit me with a paintball."

"That was sixth months ago!"

"I'll still tell!" Alice threatened, giving me this look. The kind of look Amelia gave me when she wanted to take a picture, the look my mum gave me when she wanted me to get off my computer. The look pissed me off but I can't get mad at an eight-year-olds face (especially my sisters' face).

Jordan seemed to notice the awkward stare-off that he was practically in the middle of. "Umm...." I immediately pushed Alice off the bench and steered her towards the direction of Mum, who was talking to yet more newly weds. Alice ran into Mum but I didn't stick around to hear her get spoken to because I immediately went back into the piano room, fixing my hair. "Sorry about that. She's still a little clingy and weird." I said, rubbing the back of my neck. Little kids are hell if they're as energetic as Alice is.

He laughed a little, bitterly. "Its fine. Kids don't bother me much." Jordan said, eying me up. "What did you say your name was?"

"Tom. Tom Cassell."

"Well, Tom, I--"

"And then I just stared at Skipper and I almost felt sympathy for him but I still threw a bottle at him!" A voice loudly said, scaring the shit out of me. It was the girl with the ridiculous name, Capsize, talking to red-head-Aureylian. These people have weird names....

"Guys, be quiet! This is a communal building, and we're going to get complaints if you don't quiet down." Jordan scowled at Capsize, and Aureylain looked awfully smug. "Yeah yeah, ya flirt. You just don't want to be embarrassed." She said in a high-pitched voice, putting her hand on his shoulder.

He glared at her and said something, but I didn't get to hear it because Alice was tugging me away, quietly telling me off for shoving her and to tell Mum I shoved her and Blah blah blah. I tuned out after the first five words. Finally, I have Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to get my hands on a new Zombies DLC, then I get to come back here on Monday--

Why am I looking forward to coming here on Monday?

[A/N: 'OMG SHIPPER YOU'RE SO CRUEL ONLY ONE CHAPTER AND YOU'VE BEEN GONE FOREVER?!' Yeah yeah, I was too busy studying since I want to be in honours, and I had to toss around ideas. Fight me about it. I am sorry though, I wish I did more :/ AND HAPPY SUMMER!]
