"Come on Chey don't be a whimp!"

My best friend Erin Garcia - if you can call someone who can't get enough of you one day and completely ignores your existence the next your best friend - motioned for me to follow her.

"Erin we shouldn't even be out here! It's 2am, we're gonna get in trouble." I tried to reason, crossing my arms in disapproval.

"Look, if you wanna go home, that's fine by me. But when you look back on this moment, you'll regret not coming with me. I'm going. Seeya!" Erin stepped over her dad's Ducati Motorcycle and revved the engine.

I let out a groan as I ran to Erin, swinging my leg over the bike behind her.

"If we get caught, I will kill you"

I wrapped my arms around Erin's waist, catching a glimpse of her grinning reflection in the mirror as we pulled off.

**

I wasn't normally the adventurous type, but when I'm with Erin... I'm helpless. We'd known each other since third grade, and even though it seemed to be hot or cold with her, I couldn't help but be drawn back in to her mystery and excitement.

When we were kids, it used to be stuff like sneaking out, skipping school, getting ice cream instead. But Erin had begun to care less and less about the rules lately. Not after everything that happened with her parents...

**

"You seriously have to trust me. It's my last night.. I wanna do something fun. This will be fun, I swear on my grave." Erin swung off the motorcycle and held it up while I shakily stepped off behind her.

We had pulled up at the top of a familiar bridge, one we used to cross to go to the movie theater before it shut down. It wasn't an incredibly high bridge, but it was run-down and

"I do trust you, Erin. But this is scaring me, why are we here? And what do you mean it's your last night?" I unzipped my jacket, a wave of heat and lightheadedness hitting me from the ride and the lack of general knowledge of what was happening.

"Eh nothing. And stupid is fun! Come on seriously, you can't have come this far just to quit. We're gonna get a running head start okay? Then we jump. I've always wanted to do this, it'll feel like flying I swear" Erin started pulling off her t-shirt and shorts.

This bridge might not have been that big, and the drop might not have been that far, but it was far enough that you wouldn't want to miss your target.

"Noooo nonono I can't jump that far. Not only do I have to clear the wall, but I have to jump far enough to land in the lake. Erin, we don't even know that it's deep down there.. " I stepped toward the wall and peeked over the edge, looking at the still water which had to be at least 10 feet away from the shore. Surrounding the lake were rocks, not huge rocks, but rocks that would definitely not cushion your fall.

"Chey, you can jump that far. I promise. And I've swam  in it before, it's definitely deep enough. Watch me." Erin took a quick look over the edge before backing up against the opposite side of the bridge.

"Erin. Seriously stop, that's dangerous! Don't you dare." I grabbed Erin's hand in an attempt to keep her from jumping.

"Come get me. " Erin let out a daring giggle and kissed my cheek, and I was so taken aback that the tension in my hand must have loosened up. Erin took her opportunity and sprinted towards the edge, shouting "We can fly!" before vaulting herself over the wall and pushing with all her might, aiming for the dark body of water below.
