A few minutes went by and the boys did not speak. Connor was still staring at the lyric. He was trying to decode the meaning behind the work of art. Troye was quietly working on the project in the corner of the room, waiting for someone to break the terrifying silence.

"I-is that my song journal?" Troye said hesitantly. "What does this lyric mean Troye?" Connor asked. Troye sighed in relief at the fact that Connor was talking again.

Troye slowly got up from his slouched position and walked over to Connor, who was still on Troye's bed. "Well, um, it's," Troye fumbled his words trying to find the right ones for the answer. He stared at Connor. His heart began to speed up.

You could hear his heart pumping in the quiet room. Sweaty palms, and pupils dilated.

He began. "Everyone says that gay people will go to hell," Troye said with a quiet voice. "Mhm" Connor agreed sadly. ", but if.. If I can't be myself up there. If I can't love who I love," Troye looked at the green eyed boy. "Maybe.. Maybe I don't want heaven." Troye said. Connor's eyebrows were ruffled, almost waiting for something to happen.

"Wow-" Connor whispered.

"THAT'S IT! THE CHORUS!" Troye yelled. He grabbed the journal from Connor and began writing away.

Footsteps were heard coming up the steps. "Connor? Your mum is here" Mama Mellet said.

"Oh uh okay thank you, I'll be right down," Connor said. "Bye Troye." Troye put down his journal and signaled Mama Mellet for some privacy. She closed the door and went down stairs.

"Bye." Troye said. "I don't think we actually did any of the project today" Connor said, chuckling. Troye quickly leaned in and kissed Connor. This time it wasn't a peck. Troye felt like every song he's ever written were based on Connor's lips. It continued for several more minutes and the love filled the silence.

"Connor?" Mama Franta yelled from the bottom of the stairs. If it wasn't for her the boys would have suffocated. Connor pulled away. "See you Monday" he said, biting his lip. "Yeah" Troye said, eyes lighting up. Connor walked out the door as if he was in a movie.

Troye was still standing staring at the door. "He's amazing" Troye said, with heart eyes and a grin from ear to ear.

Neither of the boys could sleep. Troye was thinking about Connor and Connor was thinking about the horror that is sexuality. Whenever he tried to think of girls all he could think about was Troye. "His eyes, his curls, why am I like this?" Connor said tearing up.

The weekend went by and the next night was the same as the one before. Connor couldn't stand his temptation to be with Troye. He knew he wanted to, but he denied it. It got to the point where he even started hating Troye for making him feel this way.

Troye was finishing up 'Heaven' and throughout the song the only thought process was Connor. As the song came to an end a new feeling came. Love. "I'm 13, I'm not old enough to feel this way," Troye said to himself. "I still have so much to see, so many people" he said.

"But, I'm happy with what I've seen. Connor." With that said, Troye decided to dedicate 'Heaven' to Connor. "Ugh, I'm so corny" Troye whispered covering his face from the cringe worthy thought.

Monday came and Troye had been practicing how he'd gift the song to Connor. Connor on the other hand was just wishing that he wouldn't freak out when he saw Troye, because he'd done something stupid during the weekend.

"Bye mum," "Bye babe" Mama Mellet said.

Troye excitedly walked into the school building looking for Connor. Remember how I said Connor did something stupid over the weekend? Well, Connor asked Zoe out. Troye saw Connor and Zoe holding hands as they entered Mr. Lawley's class. I'd say his heart broke but that'd be an understatement. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. Darkness surrounded the blue eyed boy.

He slowly walked to class. Face red and hot. As he walked to class he passed where Connor sat, Connor staring at him. Mr. Lawley decided that today they wouldn't work on the project and instead get back to normal curriculum. That was good news for Troye because that meant he didn't have to face Connor. "Hey Troye, what's wrong?" Zoe whispered. "Nothing," Troye responded quickly and with aggravation in his voice. "You should know" Troye said to himself. "But your eyes are water-" "ZOE, WHAT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT JUST COULDN'T WAIT AFTER CLASS?" Mr. Lawley yelled. "U-um troy-uh nothing, sorry Mr." Zoe stuttered. "Well, I shouldn't hear anything then." Mr. Lawley said eyes wide at Zoe.

The bell rang and Troye was the first to leave. As he went to his next class, he heard his voice. "Hey Troye!" Connor yelled. Troye rubbed his eyes to make sure there were no traces of sadness and turned to face Connor. "Hi," Troye said forcing a smile. "What happened in Math?" Connor cluelessly asked as he continued to hold Zoe's hand. Troye tried to get something out. Anything. But he couldn't. He knew any second now he'd begin to bawl. "H-here," Troye said as he gave Connor his song journal. The journal was bookmarked to the page 'Heaven' was written in. Connor read the lyrics.

He looked up at Troye with sad eyes. He looked at Zoe, who was confused by what was happening. "I-I loveyou." Troye forced out. Connor's head began to spin. He couldn't say anything.

He couldn't tell Troye how he felt because Zoe was there. She'd tell everyone. Connor wasn't ready for anyone to know, he hasn't even accepted the truth for himself yet. Connor knew the next few minutes would determine how everyone would look at him. "EW, WHAT? I'M NOT GAY. GET AWAY FROM ME YOU FAGG-." Troye ran away before he could hear the end of what Connor had to say. Everyone in the hallway stopped and looked at Connor, his face now red.

Troye didn't go to any of his other classes. He stayed in the bathroom for the rest of the day. He couldn't look at anyone. He couldn't think of anything else but the words that Connor uttered. They played over in his head like an annoying tune.
