Small Clearing

There was a sea of green.
Behind me, trees and shrubs.

A gentle breeze
Touched summer's mane
Lightly waving.

A bright blue heaven
Adjourned with its crown
Shown beams of light drifting slowly down.

A melodious choir,
Bright chirps and whistles
Reach my ears
Through the forest's sharp thistles.

A lake, lightly lapping
Somewhere in the wood,

And a loud brash tapping
From a bird, dressed in his red hood.

Suddenly, starlings swoop and swing.
They dance in the air and they sing.

This place, this scene, this medley,
It is a comprehensive remedy.
