It's past dawn break and the entire force is ready for them. Kor has decided that the team will not be the ones to strike first, allowing them to come to us. Ace tried to protest against the idea and saying about how they should go outside the zone and meet them so the zone itself is not a war zone. But Kor informed her that their would be no chance of succeeding if they left the zone due to the fact all of the resources are here and not enough man power to take it into the field. Ace didn't like the idea of basically bringing doom to this zone but she rather destroy the place altogether then let them take it for their own purposes.
"Is everything ready?", Ace asks Kor as everyone gets in position to wait.
"The rest of the team got the last of the civilians who wouldn't fight out of the zone, I don't know where they are going but it's going to better than here. Besides that we got soldiers both inside and outside by the entrance.". Ace nods understanding what Kor has said. She's spent most of her life training for something like this but now that it's happening, it's too overwhelming for her.
She's already said she's going to be placed on the top floor on top of the wall, now the only thing left to do is wait. Although they don't have to wait very long as they are close enough that you make out the forms of the soldiers and what they look like. They look like just what she imagined, normal people who've just been taken from their own soul and possessing built body parts. They all seem to have different build parts for each person, some just have a leg, both legs, a foot, arms or even their torso.
As she was trying to figure out the features of these soldiers she didn't notice that they already took the first shot which luckily didn't hit any one the members on her own side. It surprised her on how quickly they acted. Immediately she nods to Kor who signals the team to engage as they are close enough in range. From the looks of it the sides are about the same size so it should be an equal fight, besides you know, their advantage of super soldiers.
Kor set the signal and they charge at each other at the front gates of the zones. Ace stays back to observe her easiest approach. She notices it takes 2-3 of her own people to take down one of theirs. Thankfully they go down as quickly as normal humans but they have much more agility and strength.
They in a matter of only several minutes bypassed most of our soldiers and reached to the gates. Ace races up to the top level to give a vantage point to see down below, she proceeds to use her bow and arrows and skillfully manages to take down four or so of their soldiers with a one shot. But that quickly was brought to halt as their soldiers at the bottom work to crumble the walls structure. Ace, who is standing on the top of the wall, notices that the structure beneath her feet starts the crack and crumble but was too slow to move as the structure completely gives out beneath her feet. She hits the floor and starts sliding down. Her fingers fail to grip anything to hold her up as she slides down the with rest of the debris.
She hits the ground with a hefty thump, dazing her slightly. She puts her arm up to shield her from any small rocks that might still fall from the collapsed structure. Still trying to catch her breath and get back to her sense, she tries to sit back up but was forcefully pushed back down as a bionic foot steps onto her chest.
It's one of them.
This one however had both feet replaced to bionic ones, probably meant for speed and increased agility. She tries to reach for her bow that was in arms length away but it kicked it away out of reach. Failing to escape away she sees him lift of some type of sharp spear-like object that is about the length of a forearm. He slashes it down but Ace turns her head sharply causing him to miss and stab into the ground, nearly inches away from where he wanted it to hit. Everything is happening so quickly she has no time to think about what's happening. In his other hand is another object exact to the first one. Ace knew she wouldn't be able to dodge this one due to the already awkward position she is in. It lifts his arm about to slash downward. Ace braces herself for the worst but suddenly the pressure on her chest was taken off forcefully. She watched as the thing that was on top of her was gripped by the back of his neck and was violently thrown into the ruins next to her. Just takes this free moment to grab back her bow and arrows, but still watched as the thing that freed her still have ahold of the man with the biotic feet and single handedly with one arm bash his head into the ruins rocks, killing him on impact. Confused on why this thing has such strength she noticed that he has his right arm replaced with a biotic one. Her stomach drops.
Did he just kill is own kind? I thought they were under control of someone.
She just didn't understand this at all, she didn't understand anything that was happening. Why did he basically save her and kill his own at the same time? He puts out his hand and Ace flinches expecting for it to do the same thing to her as it did to the other thing but realizes that he's offering to help her back onto the feet. She makes a slight motion to take the offer he suddenly yelps in pain and collapse in pain and quickly says something inaudible to himself. She notices that Kor was behind him and shot one of his legs.
"Go Ace I got this one.", he says motioning her to get out of the way as he loads his gun again. She stands up with her weapon and stands between the one bleeding out of his leg on the ground and Kor, her faction leader.
"C'mon get out of the way, let me take one of these guys.", he says once more, smiling at the thought of killing one of these things.
"No.", she says, she not thinking clearly. She wasn't going to let Kor shoot. She doesn't know why she's doing this, she doesn't understand why he did what he did. There's so much she doesn't understand. Theirs only one thing she positive about right now and that is that she wasn't going to let him shoot.
"Ace I'm going to tell you this one more time, get the hell out of the way..", Kor says raising the gun up to aim at his head, the gun clicks indicating that it's ready to be fired.
She panicked, closing her eyes.
