I was always a bit weird. At least, from all I can remember. My family is pretty odd, too. But, I'm getting ahead of myself. My name is Alexis, but you can call me Alex. I had long, silky brown hair and emerald green eyes. I'm fifteen years old, and now live in Tokyo, japan.
My home town and age aren't too important, but my family is. I'm the youngest of three siblings. Their names aren't important, they're gone now...but maybe I'll tell you later. We were always very close, closer then any other siblings you would ever see. They would always protect me, and I hated it, seeing as they would hurt themselves to make sure I was safe.
I was a freshman in college, the middle sibling was a junior, and the oldest was a sophomore. We all went to the same school, just moving into a new town. It was about half-way into the school year. We were pretty reclusive...we didn't think we needed anyone else but each other. At least, that's what we thought between siblings. Our parents kept wanting us to "make friends", especially my mom. I was eager to oblige each time, and was often very poplar, but I didn't like it. My "friends" couldn't make me happy like my brothers did.
And, for just as many friends I had, I had double the amount of of enemies. I actually got mean notes a lot, different notes jammed into my locker. Notes telling me I was gross, disgusting, ugly, fat. Saying that I should kill myself. I never told my parents, keeping all the notes in a locked, wooden box under my bed. The only ones who ever knew about it were my older brothers.
My brothers were the only ones I felt safe and happy around. They scared off anyone who tried to hurt me, and comforted me whenever I was down. Like I said, we loved each other. But, something changed once we moved.
No one wanted to move. Well, no one in our group, that is. But, our parents insisted. Dad got a promotion and mom wanted to see what it was like to live in a "fancy" neighborhood. We decided to make the best of what we could. This time, we decided to stick together, so as those notes wouldn't continue to appear in this new place.
The first few days were uneventful, well, save for something in my history class. The class with the highest test grades were going to go on an all expenses paid trip to Japan for about a month. And, surprise, surprise! Guess which history class I got into!
My parents were so excited that they took the liberty to pack my bags for me, giving me everything I would need over the month I would be in Japan, including about a hundred dollars.
My brothers had basically the opposite effect. We just had about two months left together before I left for a whole month. They didn't want me to leave, and I didn't want to leave them, but mom said this was a "once in a life-time thing" and that I should go.
She doesn't know how right she was.
Well, about a month before I was to leave, my mom told another mom from down the street that we would go to her "darling" son's birthday party after introducing us. My oldest brother obviously didn't want to go, seeing as we're a bit too old for this stuff, but she insisted. With a groan, we began to play around again.
"A party?" I asked him as he rejoined us.
"Yep, for some kid named....Bob.....Bardoroy...."
"Billy?"
"There it is. Why does she expect us to go to some kid's party when we've never met him and don't even know his name?" he asked in annoyance.
I shrugged. "Maybe she's starting to push 'making new friends' again..." I said, trailing off, starting to remember the bullying of our old school.
"Don't worry, sis." the middle brother said, trying to comfort me.
"Yeah, we'll make sure that never happens again!" the oldest said, a smile growing on his face as he pulled me into a hug.
