Chapter 3

From now on you'll be traveling the road between who you are and who you can be. The Key is to allow yourself to make the journey.

Chloe

"Mum I'm home, hello?" 'I guess I'm alone' I thought.

I walked past the kitchen and walked up the stairs and went to my room, threw my satchel on my bed, and went to the bathroom to take off my make-up. After I was done I changed into loose pajama trousers and a sports bra, and I took of my earrings. I tied my super curly hair into a messy bun, and jumped into bed, and checked for any texts.

Like always my best-friend, Nancy who I call 'Drew' ( get it ) texted me a bunch of irrelevant Buzzfeed quizzes which I completely ignored. Then I locked my phone and put it next to my pillow and swore to just take a 15 minute nap.

I woke up, and checked my phone and saw that instead of sleeping for 15 minutes, I had slept for over two hours. So I got out of bed and went to the kitchen to find food because food is life. When I got in the kitchen, I opened the fridge to get cranberry juice and when I turned around my phone rang.

"Why didn't you answer my text?"

"What do you want Drew?"

"Can I come over for dinner my parents are having a pescatarian night, and I am not up for that"

"Sure" I sighed.

"I'll see you in a few hours" She cut the call and I put the phone down. It immediately rang again.

"Hello, who is this?"

"Did I leave my black sweater at your house last week?" Drew said.

"Yes, you can pick it up when you come by later, and on that note I'll talk to you later".

"Don't be so rude young lady, Goodbye".

I put my phone down and got a glass from the cabinet. My rang again and I said "Drew, I swear I'm going to see you in three hours, what could you possibly need to tell me!"

"Ahh so your friends coming over?" said a male voice who was definitely not Drew's. "Chloe its Mr. Richardson, I just wanted to call and see whether you had decided yet".

"Oh gosh! I'm so sorry, I thought you were my best friend Nancy," I said while pouring a drink.

"I'm sure it was just an honest mistake".

"Yeah, it was but I still haven't decided yet".

"Oh Kay, then we will speak tomorrow morning".

"Oh Kay, Goodbye". I turned off my phone and walked back up to my room.

I hopped back into bed, looked at my satchel and pulled out the contract and started looking through the terms, conditions, requirements, and other big words I didn't know. I started reading and thought 'This is going to be a long afternoon'.

"Chloe, thanks for making dinner"

"No problem Mum" I answered

"Yeah, it's actually edible for once" Drew said, I glared at her, and then she said "Just kidding Chloe, it tastes good"

"I really like it Chloe" said Zoe my 14 year old little sister

"So I have Big News" I said

Everyone looked up from their plates and looked at me, expectancy clear on their faces

"I've been invited to go on a new show called 'Open Concept', where I live in a house with two other guests for 3 weeks, and I get $30,000 at the end of it. So can I go?"

"Yes, of course" said My Mum beaming

"We'd be delighted to let you go, no questions asked" my Dad smiled at me sweetly

"I'll drive you to the airport" Drew said "Really? Thanks "I responded"

"I'll miss you Chlo, but I think you should go"

"I'll miss you too Zo, I'll miss everyone, but if you all agree, then its set I'm leaving tomorrow morning" I answered, as I smile at all their faces.

Now that is how the conversation would have gone if my life were actually great, but it's not, so here's how it actually went

"Why do you want to leave us?" my Mum asked looking sad

"I don't want to just leave Mum, I just want to experience something, different, and this is a really good opportunity, you know."

"Chloe, please don't leave me, who is going to give me boy advice" Zoe said "There are phones Zoe" I answered

"How are you going to leave me for 3 weeks" Drew blurted out

"Dude you went to Cambodia for 4 months, and I managed"

"That's not the same thing" she retorted

"Mhmm" I said as I shook my head and smiled

My Dad who was quiet this whole time said "I know you're all for new experiences, but I want to look more into this tonight, before you sign anything, I will not put my daughter in jeopardy, for the sake of 'She wanted a new experience'. I need to see a contract and every single agreement, and requirement. And then I'll decide whether you can go or not"

Since I was expecting this to happen, I had brought the contract in the envelope downstairs with me and immediately gave it to my dad. He took it, got up from the table, and said he would be back soon.

After Drew, Zoe, and I had cleared up the table, Drew asked her parents if she could stay over after she explained that I could be going away, they said Yes, of course as they always do. We all changed into our PJ's and my Mum went to her room, but we were downstairs watching Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging,and doing Drew's 'Oh So important' Buzzfeed Quizzes when my Dad came in and handed me back the contract and said "You can Go. On one condition"

"What is it?"

"Please come back safely."

With that he walked out of the room, but before he could leave,I got up to hug him.

Then immediately went on my phone, and dialed up a number "Hi, Mr Richardson, I have some news.."
