The Brave may not live Forever, but the Cautious may not Live at All

"Are you sure you can be a good clown?" Mrs Richardson asked
"I've never been one to disappoint" I replied
"Good, because little children are harder to please than they seem" Mrs Richardson said as she handed me an envelope, with a paycheck of only half of what I was supposed to be given
"I've worked at many parties before this one it will be a breeze"
"Oh I hope so, I really do." she smiled weakly
I took the envelope from her hand, and headed back to my car to get the clown suit. I unlocked my car, and got all the things I needed before rushing of to a public restroom nearby where I could change.
When I got there, I tied my hair back, washed my face, and started to put on pale white paint, then I drew big black circles around my eyes and filled them in with red water color. I hurriedly drew on a sloppy big smile and filled it in with a bright pink color.
'That should do' I thought
Then I put on my suit and shoved on my wig. It was 'Go time'
I rushed back to my car, to put my stuff away, and then walked over to the party, and started on my fiasco.
"Hey kids it's Daffy Daisy, how are you all doing".
None of them smiled, Mrs Richardson was right, they are hard to please. Oh well let's do this!

When I was done with my whole routine, I went to sit at one of the tables, completely exhausted, I slowly lowered my head on to the table. Then I heard a quiet, "Excuse me, miss".
I then lifted my head to see a very attractive man in a tailored suit, which fit him very well, standing in front of me, and looking down, "Are you Chloe?" he asked
I silently nodded
"Well here is the rest of your check, and I would like to talk to you"
"Who are you?" I suddenly asked
"Oh, I'm sorry. I completely forgot to introduce myself, I'm Mr Richardson, the little birthday girl's father" he smiled
"Oh that's nice" I smiled back "What would you like to talk about?"
"How would you like to make $30,000?"
"Wait, What?" I answered
"I'm sorry I was so blunt, I am a producer and I'm going to produce a new show called 'Open Concept' where 3 people live in a apartment for 3 weeks together."
"Uh huh" I nodded
"The idea is to see how well people can bond over a short period of time, simply because of constant interaction"
"Mm Oh Kay. But why me?" I asked
"Because" he said with a smile "I've been looking for young college students who are willing to make some money. But not just any students, people who are down to earth, real people"
"Real people" I repeated "Oh Kay, it sounds interesting"
"Yes it is, well I've already found one other perfect candidate other than you, and she is sure to be a part of the show. I would love to discuss this further in my office, are you available tomorrow?" He says while standing up
"I believe so" I say standing up as well
"Great, then come to the address on here, and well have a meeting with the casting agent and a few interviewers" he says while handing me a card, "And hopefully we can get you on the show"
"Oh Kay" I just nodded
"Well it was nice meeting you Chloe, we'll talk again soon" He stretched out his hand, so I could shake it and walked away.
I sat back down, and thought 'Wait, did that really just happen.' It felt like the kind of thing to only happen in dreams.
