I couldn't believe who I saw in front of me. My mother, my two best friends, and Vera the leader of the mermaid council.

"What are you guys doing here," I asked suddenly scared. If Vera found out about my secret I don't know what would happen.

"Wow," Christie said coming over slowly and giving me a hug. "Kaya and I get legs to come see you and this is how you say hi."

I hugged her and Kaya still not believing that they're here. "I didn't think I would see any of you here," I said sheepishly.

"Kaya, Christie," Vera started sternly. "Can you wait outside while we talk to Anastasia?"

They nodded and went outside. This had to be some kind of dream. I looked at my mother and Vera suddenly feeling trapped.

"Anastasia, we will help make sure that our secret is kept safe," Vera said coldly glaring at me. "After that you are banished from the pod."

I saw both my mother and Dumbledore look at her in shock. I was too shocked myself to say anything.

"You have gone against the pod," Vera continued still in that cold voice. "You have associated yourselves with land people and left without permission. We will be finding a new home after we help you and you're not to follow."

She left the room after that and I felt close to crying. I'm banished from the pod. At least she doesn't know about me loving a land boy.

My mother nodded stiffly to me and followed after her. "I can't believe this," I muttered stunned. "This can't be happening."

"I'm sorry," Dumbledore said knowing this was a huge deal. "I didn't think that would happen or she would come."

I nodded my head slowly. "I should go to Hogsmeade," I said quietly. "I need to distract myself." He nodded and I left the room.

"Do you guys want to come with me?" I asked not stopping and headed for the door. "We can catch up?"

They followed after me and we headed to the little town outside of the grounds. "I don't know how people do this," Kaya complained looking at her legs. "My legs ache like crazy."

"Trust me," I said laughing a little. "You get used to it after a while." I saw them both make digusted faces at that.

We enter the little town and we go into a place called the Three Broomsticks. I see almost everyone from school here including Draco. I see everyone stare and I quickly go to an empty table and sit down.

"Why is everyone staring?" Christie asked sitting across from me next to Kaya. "Do they know about us?"

"No," I said as everyone turned back to their conversations. "They don't know who you two are and why I'm with you."

"This is so weird," Kaya said after a minute. "How are we supposed to blend in?"

"We don't," I said sadly knowing it was true. Mostly because they didn't go to school and because we're all Americans. "We just keep our heads down and act casual."

I looked at my two best friends and couldn't help smiling a little. We always stuck together in the pod and told each other everything. Kaya was always the adventurous loving type. Christie was the level handed and usually stopped us getting in trouble.

I saw a middle aged woman who probably worked here come up to us and smiled. "What can I get for you ladies?"

We gave her curious looks not knowing what to say. Thankfully the twins came over before the awkwardness continued.

"Five butterbeers," Fred said handing her some money. She nodded and walked away as the twins pulled up chairs next to us.

"Kaya, Christie," I said feeling like I had to make introductions. "This is Fred and George. Guys these are my best friends Kaya and Christie."
