The bad news

I'm loving my university so much! Everything's wonderful! My teachers are great and I've made some friends. Which is always a plus one. It's Christmas time now so I'll be going home today. I'm really excited!

I was in my car driving to my home town in Michigan. If your wondering why I have my own car now is because my mum and dad drove up to my college to give it to me.  I crank up the music in my car and start listening to a bit of Troye Sivan. He's one of my favourite artists. He's one of those artist where he sound exactly like his music live. I'm driving, listening to Troye windows down enjoying life. I don't know what could be better.

As I pull up into my drive way I get a feeling that something bad had happened. I don't know what but it was a horrible feeling. I go to the boot of my car to get my suitcase and hear a car slowdown.

It's ok whoever that is is not stupid enough to kidnap me in front of my house.

I slowly turn around to see Dylan. I scream and run up to his car whilst he is getting out of it and hug him. Suddenly I'm feeling much better.

"Ahhh I'm so happy you're here!" I say with a huge grin on my face.

"Well of course. Wouldn't miss it for the world to see your beautiful face."

I instantly blush and look away. "I'm going to get my stuff and go in. I haven't seen my family in ages."

"I'll come with."

Oh my god, Dylan is here. I totally forgot that he would be here. Of course, I'm so stupid. He's basically apart of our family. Wait if he's basically apart of our family and we kiss or whatever that's incest. We should probably move somewhere where we wouldn't get arrested for that. I mentally make a note to look up where that is legal. In the middle of my thought stream I look up to see Dylan staring at me with a smile on his face. I blush immediately.

"Let's go!" I say trying to cover up my cheeks with my hair.

As we walked into the house I could smell mum's cooking and instantly I felt at home.

"Good day, did anyone order pizza?" I joked.

Everyone but my little sister, Sophie,  turned around and screamed. In a happy way though. Ran to me and I nearly fell over. I was grinning and my smile was so long.

That smile was plastered on my face for the whole evening. Until we had a family meeting.

"I made this meeting because I have to tell you guys something" Said my mum. "As you are aware Sophie is not here." She continued. As she said this her smile fell. "We recently have found out that she is suffering with lung cancer." I broke down in tears.

"What?! How could they do this to a little girl! She's only 15! She has her whole live in front of her!" I said, worried.

Dylan put a hand on my back attempting to calm me down. It only worked the slightest bit.

"When did you find out? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I continued.

"We just found out a week ago." said my dad. "She has stage 3 cancer. We were going to tell you but you were in school we couldn't just take you out of school. We're sorry."

I cried so hard that day. It was horrible. Even Dylan was crying and I barely see him cry. Just his presence calmed me down a little though.

We all planned to see her tomorrow morning. I'm excited to see her but i'm also scared. You know to see her with all these wires hooked up to her. It's definitely scary.

Thank you for reading loves!

Hope you had a great day today!!

Also just wanted to say thank you for all your votes and I can't believe that so many people are reading my book! 356 people! Thats quite a lot!

This chapter had about 610 words so I hope that was long enough. I personally hate reading short chapters so I tried to make mine longer.

What are your thoughts on Sophie?

Any ways you think I could improve any writing?
