A Stolen Life

The truth.

Inside was some weird voice recorder. Why would my mom give me a key to a box with some voice recorder in it ? I picked up the recorder and turned it on. 

'Elaine's Diary' popped up on the little screen. So is this some sort of  voice diary? I was a little bit confused. Actually, a lot.

I pressed play, and what came out of that little thing changed my life.

 || A/N I dont feel like coming up with what the mom said so lets just pretend that it was how she was happy that she got away with the kidnapping blah blah blah, k. (x ||

In anger I jammed the little recorder back in the box and slammed it shut and threw it back under the bed. I ran my hands through my hair and started to cry.

Who are my real parents?

Are they still looking for me?

Do they think im DEAD?

I need to find them ..

 I need to get out of this house.

I quickly grabbed a pillow case went into our shed to find where my dad keeps his money. 

There wasn't a lot but i didnt care. I grabbed it all and stuffed it into the pillow case. I looked around and remembered that we have a gun here. I looked in all the drawers and closets until i finally found it in a metal case. I carefully grabbed it and put it in the pillow case. 

Wait i cant go roaming the streets with a pillow case filled with cash and a gun..

I ran to my room and got my old backpack and put the money and gun in the bag. 

Wow what a birthday..

I went out the back door hoping no one would see me because our neighbors are little snitches who tell my "parents" everything -.-

Where was I going to go ?

I decided to go to my best friends house. 

When i got to her house i knocked on her door.

"Em! Happy Birthday! So uh what are you doing here?"

"Listen Beth, I really need a place to stay for tonight."

"Wait whats going on?"

"Trust me, Just let me in and ill explain everything."

"Uhh, okay."

She opened the door and let me in. 

"Sooo...explain why your acting so mysterious please?" She asked.

"Can we go to your room to discuss this?" I asked.

"Em, your scaring me.." She said walking towards her room. 

We got in and i sat on the floor taking my bag off my shoulders.

"Beth, I found out something, like really bad.."

"What?"

"Im kidnapped.."

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA EM YOUR NOT SERIOUS RIGHT HAHA" she laughed. 

I sat there giving her a blank expression that says 'im not joking so you better shut up before i shoot you with the gun in my bag'

"Beth, please. listen."

"Ahh... okaay tell me why you think your...kidnapped... haha" She said trying not to laugh.

"So my mom got me this key," I said showing her the key necklace, "I thought it was cute and stuff, but it actually unlocked this box i found in my moms room. And there was this like voice diary thing in it. Im confused why she gave me a key to this.. i dont know but when i turned it on and listened she was saying how she was so happy she got away with kidnapping me and all this stuff.  When my dad was stationed in Iraq she faked a pregnancy  and before he came she kidnapped me when i was 2 months old so when he came back he believed i was his daughter and i dont know what to do i just stole money and got a gun i need to find my real parents and and and-"

"Em...calm down..its alright" She said hugging me as i sobbed in her shoulder " where did you get a gun from?"

"I found it in my shed" I told her

"Is it in that bag...?" She asked 

I nodded my head.

"oh my gosh okay well uh you can stay here okay?" She said

"Thank you so much, but i need to leave first thing in the morning." I said

"Are you sure? where are you going to go?"

"im gonna find my parents."

"And what is your plan?"

"I dont know ill figure it out later."

"Okay Em.. I dont think thats such a good idea. But its your decision."

I took a deep breath and thought about what i was going to do.

I could go to the police.. but that wouldnt be a good idea considering i have a bag full of cash and a loaded gun which i cant get rid of yet.

I layed down on Beth's  bed and decided to take a nap.

I closed my eyes and slowly fell asleep.
