I woke up to my back twisted against the wall and Padma laying with her head in my lap. I looked up at the sky, and guessed it was around 3 am. Perfect time to go shopping.
I shook her shoulders and whispered in her ear "Wake up, it's time to go shopping" she groaned in response, and opened her eyes "Okay.." She said before falling back into my lap. "I'm serious, we don't have any more food in the moped" I rolled my eyes "Okay fine.." She mumbled, standing up and walking towards the moped. The moped is one of the things we stole from our parents, alongside some cash and clothing.
I dipped my hands in the river and washed my face quickly before turning on the engine. "Ready?" I asked her "Ready" she replied. "I think we'll only be going to West Reno tonight."
"West Reno is about thirty five minutes away, hold on tight" I yelled over the engine, as we left.
*time skip*
Finally arrived to a decent enough neighbourhood "Alright,you know the drill. Check cars, run and hide if the siren goes off and NEVER go through front doors."
"Yeah yeah I know.." She looked at the ground for a second before getting off the moped, and skipping towards a car. I crossed the street, and checked cars on the other side of the road before I found one that was open.
"Jackpot." I whispered, looking at the inside of the seat, and finding a makeup bag.
I giggled as I marvelled the five hundred dollars and mascara inside.
I quickly shut the door and ran to Padma with the money, showing her the cash. She smiled brightly before telling me she hadn't found anything yet. "That's fine, lets keep going before going into a house." We came to a huge house, with several cars in the driveway. I took Padma's hand and tiptoed to the closest car before opening it.
I laughed slightly and mumbled "Stupid rich people" and found a bag filled with jewellery, and a soft white jacket. I put on the jacket, before running down the street like a madman and cackling with laughter "Come on Paddy" I yelled behind me, and saw her catching up to me. "Hungry?" I asked. "Very." She responded.
"Okay, let's hit up Taco Bell and then find a pawn shop" I looked at her, and she nodded.
We laughed while cruising the streets of Reno on the moped, before finally finding a Taco Bell.
"Okay, I'm going to order three beef tacos and three chicken tacos, what would you like?" I laughed at her jokingly. She smiled back as we waited in line.
Finally our food was ready, and I took her hand and led her to the bathroom.
I washed my face, applied some mascara and tried to comb my fingers through my unruly curly brown hair.
"Remember to wash your hands" I winked. "Not just for hygienic reasons" I whispered.
We left the restaurant quickly, and hopped on the moped. "Pawn shop, here we come."
