"You're just wasting time." She told me, "Now you think that I'm stupid."
"You know I don't think that." I told her.
"You may not say it but I know you are thinking it." she countered.
"Of course I'm thinking it right now! This whole thing is stupid," I argued.
"See!" She exclaimed.
"See what?" I asked, "It is! Who cares if I want to leave early, even you barely know and you're getting mad at me?"
"Yeah, and now you think I'm annoying you." She told me. She walked past by me and went into the room.
"Oh my god, this isn't even about us, it's about your coworker's lame party, which you feel obligated to go to, even though he has no friends. If we go, that counts, but we don't have to stay for the whole 4 hours!" I said telling her while she puts her cardigan on.
"But it is about us! It's about you about not understanding what's important to me." She told me walking past me.
"Eating homemade potato salad and playing a scrabble torment is important to you?" I asked.
"Ugh, this is stupid." She muttered.
"That what I just said!" I exclaimed.
She turned around and looked at me and told me, "You're stupid." Then she leaves.
I got frustrated. "You know what, I'm going to let that one go. Can you just tell me when we can leave early or not please?" I asked her.
She walked up to me and said, "Jungkook, you tell me."
I silently said 'what?' in confusion.
I went downstairs where she was, and she was tying her shoes.
"Look, sorry I brought it up, can you just decide and I'll do whatever." I said.
She was done tying her shoes and looked at me, "No Jungkook, not this time." She said, "I'm not going to tell you what to do because you're going to use it against me later saying I always do what you say." I sighed.
"No more." She said and turned around and opened the door and left. I shook my head and got up and followed her.
Once we got outside I said, "Hey this whole thing wasn't my fault, there's no reason for this."
She turned around and told me, "You're right, there is no reason for this," and kept walking again.
I looked at her while she walked away.
You know, it wasn't always like this. Can't remember when it wasn't, but for sure, we weren't always like this. She used to be, my unicorn. You know, unbelievable. Crazy special, the girl I thought could never exist, but as time went on, from one stage to the relationship the next, the path where it started so innocent, fun, has taken us to... that. But like most, we started off as strangers. At stage 1, Meeting. Thanks to a good friend Jimin.
