I don't know when it will happen or how, but I hope we can leave it on good, neutral terms, if that's ever truly possible.
"I think it's for the best." She said to me.
We were at the park at night. At our usual place, breaking up.
"Fine." I said a little heartbroken.
And this is where the two of us both start a new path. One where it leads right back where it started, strangers.
ー
I'm on my bed it's nighttime already. I'm not sure if I should call her or not. I have no idea if she's awake or not. But I end up calling her anyway.
The change will be so drastic, so blunt that it will probably might want you get back together, just to restore what's normal.
Finally she answers my phone.
"Hello?" She answers.
"Hey." I greeted her it took me awhile to get out what I was saying, "I miss you."
"Are you drunk?" She asked me.
I sighed and hanged up
But this doesn't always happens, and the distance will grow. Eventually the two of us will move on, will find someone new.
ー
I'm on Instagram and I'm still friends with her, but I don't message her anymore. I scroll through my news feeds and I see a picture.
"Oh my gosh." I muttered in fear.
I ran to the living room, yelling out Jimin's name. I dragged him to where my computer is at.
"Who is that? Who is she with? Tell me who that it." I asked him franticly
It shows a picture of her and a guy in a kitchen smiling with each other.
Jimin sigh and said to me, "Sorry man," and patted me and went back to the living room.
I looked at the picture in sadness.
And even when we both get over with the past, and try to remain friends, things will never be the same.
ー
I'm at the park for the first time ever since we broke up. I'm going to run again. I'm stretching before I run. That is when till someone called my name.
"Jungkook?" I heard a girl's voice calling my name.
I turned around it turned out to be her.
"Hey it is you." She said smiling.
"Oh, hey." I said shock. I didn't expect to see her.
"Hi nice to see you." She said.
"Yeah you too, you still run around here?" I asked her.
"Well, when I visit home, yeah." She told me.
"Visit?" I asked.
"Yeah, I moved to the next town over a couple months ago, but I'm just here to show my boyfriend the park." She said.
"Oh cool," I said a little disheartened.
"Oh he's right here." I see a guy in a blue jacket jogging toward us.
"Jungkook this is Yoongi, Yoongi this is Jungkook." She introduced to us.
"Hi." He said stretching out his hands for a shake.
I imagine that when I first saw him I would punch him out of anger and jealousy, but then I realize, what type of person would that make me be?
I looked at him then his hands, "Nice to meet you dude."
"Well, uh, we should catch up sometimes, I'll text you late okay?" She asked.
"Sure." I said.
She and Yoongi left to jog around.
Our lives will continue on in different directions, becoming strangers again. And everything we shared will just become a fragmented memories. For so long ago, I'll question if it really had some. And all that will be left is a box of pictures with each other and random stuff. From a faded period of times when that stranger was the most important person in my life.
ー
I got up with my box of pictures and random things. Once I got up, everything fell. I got down and went to pick them up. I picked up a framed with a note at the back, it says:
"This is to remind you of how hard you fell for me when we first met, haha. Jungkook, I'm so glad we have each other in our lives. No matter what, we'll make it through, and we'll always have a tomorrow together. Happy Anniversary!"
I look at the picture in the frame and just think.
