I shall start writing in 3rd Person P.O.V

This was it. Candie was finally here. Christmas Island! Although there was just one small detail: she was with Mason. However, her heart kept saying how it wasn't as bad as she thought before. Maybe, it would even be fun hanging with him.

Of course, Mason thought the same, as he was just as guilty as having his share of laughs with her. But now, Mason wasn't laughing. Not even smiling. He was in complete awe of the sight that was in front of him.

"Is this...?"
"Yup, it sure is." Candie was pointing to a huge grass field that was flooded with decorations. People were resting in hammocks, taking pictures in front of glowing reindeer, and eating food from all of the temporary vendors. Best of all, the path that the people were walking on lights up! Plus, there were glowing arches that followed the path. Mason was still standing there with his mouth open, staring at all of it.

"Amazing, isn't it?" Candie asked.
"Amazing? Damn, this is AWESOME" Mason shouted.
"Oh, sorry Candie. I almost forgot." Mason bent down a little so she could get off his back, since he recovered from blushing like crazy. Candie jumped down with ease.
"Thanks for the ride." She said softly.
"Anytime." They stood there staring for each other for a while.
"Geez, I know I'm the bomb, but I didn't know that you would fall for me that easily." He teased.
"Hmph, you would've thought!" Candie said while she stuck out her toungue. Then, she started to walk ahead of him to the start of the path. When she reached it, she turned around and saw Mason still standing there. "Well, are you coming or what?"

"Uhh, I dont know. Is it safe?"

Candie started to laugh, and walked back over to him. She reached for his arm and pulled him with her. "Let's go!" As they took each step, an arch lit up with hundreds of rainbow colored lights.

The path they walked on lead to a group of people that were surrounding a circular shaped stage. Mason and Candie looked at each other, surprised.

"That's one huge crowd." Mason said after he whistled.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the 43rd annual Roosevelt Island Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony!" They both heard a woman's voice say over a microphone. They were all the way in the back of the crowd, and couldn't relate to all the hype that was going on since they couldn't see a thing.
"I say we move all the way to the front." Mason suggested.
"And..how will we do that?"

He only replied by sticking out his hand to her.

Candie stood there staring at him.

"Aw come on, don't leave me hanging!" Mason started to turn his head the other way.

A few seconds later, he felt her fingers slip through his hand. He jumped from the coldness of her palms, but continued to hold on. If he were to let go, he would lose her in this sea of a crowd.

"Candie, you're FREEZING!" He said with a worried tone. They were already halfway through the crowd, thanks to Mason's maneuvering skills.

"Oh..." Was all she managed to say while she hung her head down. "I'm sorry.."

"Nuh uh. No apologizing."

Candie stared at their connected hands, and suddenly felt the tiniest hint of heat on her face. "Th-then I'm not sorry!" She stuttered back. Mason turned his head to look at her, and just chuckled.

After 4 whole minutes of squeezing their way to the front, they finally made it. Candie and Mason looked up to see the stage sparkle with purple and blue stage lights. A group of 5-8 year old children dressed in all red(including Santa hats) were gathering around a microphone.
