"Hurry the fuck up!!!" I hear my best friend Eli call to me from her car. Eli is a short girl with long, black hair that falls in small curls. She's a year older then all our friends, which is why she already has her driver's license. She was held back a year. Well, more like she started kindergarten a year late because she 'couldn't draw a diamond.' That's what she always said. "Calm the hell down! I'm coming." I yell as I run out of my front door. I run up to the door of the small, red station wagon that belonged to Eli, and got in. "You ready for our first day of high school?" she says to me as she pulls out of my gravel driveway. "Kinda," I reply. "You?" I pull out my phone and use the camera as a mirror. I see my dark brown hair that I have sticking up, adding an inch to my already six-foot-3 self. I have sky blue eyes and my skin is tan from the long hours in the sun from band camp. "Yeah!" Eli says. "I can't wait to see all my friends again."

We pull up to our school and pull into an empty parking spot. I get out and reach for my schedule. "See you in 3rd period," I say to Eli as we walk through the large glass doors at the front of the school. I walk into my first period classroom and see my friend Paul. Paul is wearing a superman hoodie and baggy jeans. His black skin makes his white glasses stand out more than the wide frames already do. He's talking to someone I don't recognize. This mystery man turns around to look at me when Paul almost screams my name. My jaw dropped. This guy has a muscular build and a defined jawline. He has green eyes and dirty-blond hair. "Dylan!" Paul yells. "This is Jake. Jake, this is my good friend Dylan."
