Making my way into the school, I located the office easily, got my schedule and made sure I found my locker. After putting most of the books I wouldn't need till lunch, I went to my first class. AP Biology in C26. What? I am smart. My dream is to become a vet because I just love animals and I've always been fascinated by them.

Walking into class, I notice a few things. Most of the students haven't arrived yet, which is just okay with me, most of the guys who are here are giving me lusty looks and there is one girl from the group I saw outside in the parking lot. The one who was in the car with Barbie. Eyeing the seats in the class, I decide to head for the one at the back. I never really liked sitting in front in class.

The seat I chose just happened to be right next to barbie's friend. I take a long look at her to know if she wants my head for her leader or if she doesn't care. With auburn hair long that just reached her shoulders, dark brown eyes which reminded of the chocolate bar I didn't take this morning and she looked rather sweet. There was no hostility on her face so I assumed all was good. She was really pretty in a subtle way, and she had less make up on than her other friends.

Sitting down I took out my textbook and checked the schedule what they were doing at the moment. Sighing, I opened my book and went to the DNA section, easy stuff.

"Hi" I heard a very timid, careful voice say. Turning to my right I notice that barbie's friend was talking to me. Just to be sure I kept quiet a few more seconds, in case she was talking to someone else.

"Hey. I'm Shailene, people just call me Shay" she held her hand out for me to take. Looking at it a few seconds too long, I recovered and remembered my manners.

"I'm Jennifer. But you can call me Jenny" she nodded and smiled in return. My curiosity got the better of me and I asked her what I wanted to ask since she smiled at me. "Aren't you friends with that fake Barbie girl? Who's parking spot I took. I don't think she would approve" I kept my voice as empty and as steady as I could.

"Oh no. sorry about that. She's actually my cousin so I'm forced to ride with her to and from school everyday because my aunt can't afford two cars" she smiled as she explained but there was also some pain in her voice. Knowing it was probably time to move from the topic I nodded and looked at my book, signalling that I was done talking to her.

"I don't have a lot of friends but I can show you around if you like. Plus you put my darling couz in her place, you deserve a medal" she continued.

"Don't you hang out with your cousin at lunch and during break? You know cause you're family and all?" she looked a bit down at my question but quickly recovered.

"No. not really. We're not in the same social circle you see. She hangs out with her friends, the cool people and I hang with mine, the not so cool people. It works though" she shrugged as though it meant nothing. I'd seen too many psychologists to know fake when I saw it.

I felt a bit, like a little bit sorry for her, plus I did need a friend and Barbie and I just weren't happening.

"Okay. I need to learn this place and know who's who. I'd love to hang out with you" I smiled and she returned it with her own and nodded her head. She is really shy and reserved. What did she ever do to deserve such a devil cousin.

"So, you from around here? Visiting family or transfer student? I'm curious" Shay asked as she moved her chair a bit to the right so she can be closer to me. I realised that she was starting to relax.

"I'm not from around here. We just moved here a couple of days ago... me and my parents I mean" she nodded as I explained.

"Must've been hard leaving all your friends behind".

I nodded, "it was. My one friend handcuffed herself to me thinking it would make my dad change his mind. He called a locksmith beforehand, he was prepared" she shook her head and laughed.

"Why did you move though? Didn't your parents like your old place?" the one question I was dreading but in knew was coming. It was bound to be asked. Here goes.

"They did but my dad got a promotion and he took it" I kept it short to not give any more than was necessary. No one has to know anything else except that little detail.

"So where do you stay? Is it close by?" she looked really interested so I answered as best I could.

"We just moved into that house on that hill" I laughed at my joke before continuing. "We bought a house a bit into the forest. Its big, secluded and how my mother likes it. 30 minutes from here I think" I shrugged, I had no address so I guess my explanation will have to do.

"Oh my gosh! You mean YOU live in THAT house?" she gushed. I looked at her as though she'd grown a second head. At my look she continued. "That house you just mentioned sounds a lot like the mansion that belonged to the late Mr Alfonso. He was super rich, like crazy rich, had no family so when he died it was put on the market. No one's ever been able to afford it, that's why its been empty for almost three years now" waoh, didn't see that coming.

"Well, it's not so empty anymore" I smiled coyly at her. I knew my parents were loaded, but this is new. I took a quick glance around the classroom to see some students getting into class. Some gave me curious looks, some dirty looks and some gave the same old lusty looks which I smiled shyly too.

"I'd give anything to see how that house looks" Shay continued, not noticing my little moment with the semi hot dude in the front.

"You can come with me after school to see it, I don't mind" I shrugged as I offered. Its just a house, no big deal.

"Really" Shay shrieked so loud I almost took back my invite but thought better of it. She's really nice taking it back would be like kicking a bunny and enjoying it. When I nodded she leaped from her chair and threw her hands around my neck screaming thank yous in my ear. Awkward much? I'm not much of a hugger.

"Thank you. Can't wait" she said after recollecting herself. I was about to respond when I heard a throat not so discreetly clear behind me.

Turning my head, I prepared to give the person my coldest bitch face with hopes it will be enough to send them screaming away from me and my new friend.

Looking up I was met with the most gorgeous shade of blue I'd ever seen. I felt a bit jealous, why can't I have eyes that pretty. I looked him over, nice toned chest and I'm guessing a six pack under the tight shirt he wore. Black jeans hung loosely on his waist, not too loose, just tight enough to make a great fit. When I looked back up at his face, he had a smirk on his face realising I was checking him out. In reply I gave my own smirk and gave what I hoped was a look of approval.

Target acquired.
