"What?!" I said sputtering out the rest of the orange juice in mouth and onto the floors . My jaws hung low as soon as I heard the news my mom just announced and trust me, it wasn't good news.

"Honey, calm down, it's only going to be for a month." I couldn't believe my ears. "A month? I can't take care of myself for a month! I can barely make eggs, talkless of the fact of staying home alone for a month." I complained.

My mom winced as I yelled at her. But I didn't care. She was leaving me all alone at this old, creakily house for a whole month. What do you expect?

"I never said anything about leaving you all by yourself." She said, trying to calm me down. "Wait does that mean I'm going with you?" I asked excitedly.

"No. You know I can't take you." I was getting more confused by the minute. "So where am I going?" I drawled.

She hesitated before she began speaking again. "You know our neighbor two doors down," she began. Of course I knew who lived there. It was no other than the schools bad boy, also known as Carson Watkins.

I drew my breath in, waiting for her to finish. "Well his mom and I have been talking and when I told her about the business trip, she was the first person to take you in."

Pinch me. Am I daydreaming or did I just hear that I was spending a whole month with Carson Watkins.

My mom must have seen my face grow pale because she soon added, "Look, before you start getting all whiny, I know you haven't had much experience with all that is  happening but I know that I had to do a quick planning towards the whole thing. It was an unexpected trip and I couldn't deny it and-" "Mom I get it," I said cutting her off from her rant. "It's fine. I understand."

She did a double take at me before engulfing me in a hug. "Oh honey, I knew you would understand." I smiled a weak smile and pulled out on the hug.

I didn't want her to stress out. It has been really tough trying to cope with the bills we get everyday since my dad left and I knew the job was really important to her. Even though it meant to be stuck with a hot, but ignorant boy, I agreed to stay with them, while my mom will be up in no mans world for a month.

"When exactly are you leaving?" I asked her, hoping it wasn't anytime soon.

"Today." She replied quietly. "As in today like right now?" I exclaimed with wide eyes. She simply nodded, wincing once again by my yelling.

I tried relaxing, knowing there had to be some way she could postpone it. "Why do you have to go today? Why can't it be tomorrow or next week?" I said, pouting. I added my puppy dog eyes for effect, hoping she will fall for it, but my mom knew me too well.

"Honey, you know I can't move the date. It's not my say. I just do what I'm told. Now can you please start packing? I don't have all day you know." She turned around and started walking to the direction of her room, leaving me alone in the middle of the dining room.

I folded my hands over my chest, waiting for her to come back and laugh, telling me it was all a joke, but after awhile of waiting, I knew she wasn't kidding. I sighed, huffing my way upstairs and into my room, slamming the door shut.
