"Junie, what time is it?" Sapphire, who was now pulling on her own blouse - a habit she has accustomed to when stressed and nervous - asked her best friend with a worried tone.
"Hey hey hey, watch it now. You still have one week to complete the requirements! You worry too-"
"The time Junie? The time?" Asked Sapphire.
"Oh. Right. Well it's 12:39. I never seen you devoured your food that fast. 9 minutes is definitely a new record!"
How am I gonna find 3 teachers in 21 minutes at a campus like this? Sapphire quickly gathered her things and bid her goodbyes to her schoolmate. She was quite in a hurry. She needed to give the Transition slip to Ms. Reynalds, and her recommendation forms to Ms. Benilde and Sir Denise. If it weren't for her bad habit of over thinking, she wouldn't be stuck in this position right now. 5 days away from the deadline of applying to her 4th dream school.
But since the world is an unfair place - or was it destiny? circumstance? - she was called by her commandant, Mrs. Garrett.
Indirectly, of course. She wasn't that popular.
"Sapph!" Called one of her classmates, Allie, as she was rushing to the stairs.
"Yeah?"
"Mrs. Garrett wants to see you," said Allie.
Well that caught her attention.
She turned around to face Allie. Behind her blonde haired brown-eyed classmate was Mrs. Garrett, talking to the CAT officers, more or less 15 ft away.
Suddenly she was nervous. "What for?" She joined Allie who was walking towards their commandant.
"Honestly? I don't know." She replied.
It was evident in her classmate's face that she and the officers were scolded. A reason as to why her nervousness increased.
And as they were beside Mrs. Garrett, Sapphire forced to hide any look that may get her in trouble as well on her face. "Ma'am?"
"Ah, Sapphire, you're here." The older lady turned to the officers. "You see this is why I called all of you today. One of you isn't doing a great job in being an officer. And no, it wasn't Marcus this time.
"I've been observing you more intently for the past 2 weeks to which you may have noticed. But that didn't change the way you acted, Cody. I'm sorry but, everyone, meet the new S1, Sapphire."
I am to replace Cody, who practically knows I have a crush on him up to now, in his position as a CAT officer??? screamed Sapphire. On the inside, of course.
