Love is a tricky thing.
Chapter Five
Fukari and Kaneko both gathered up their things at the end of the day and headed to the school gates together. Akira’s sports car didn’t seem to be there just yet.
Making a face at the abnormality, Fukari then turned to Kaneko with a smile. “Wait with me?” he asked.
“Sure,” Kaneko said as they moved to stand by the wall. “I can only wait a bit though. I have to pick Shin up.”
Fukari nodded as he leaned his back against the wall. “So how are you liking the new place?”
Kaneko smiled, looking up at the sky. “It’s the best thing I could’ve asked for. Thank you so much.”
“Seriously, Sempai. It was nothing.” Fukari said, waving his hand dismissively.
…
“I really have to go now Fukari. I’ve pushed it as long as I can.” Kaneko said, pushing off the wall.
They been standing there for a good hour. With each passing minute, Fukari’s anger seemed to grow.
“If he was going to be fucking late, the fucker should’ve called me,” Fukari shouted, pushing off the wall in a rage. “I’ll kill him, I really will.”
“Ha, I’ll catch you tomorrow then, Fukari.” Kaneko said.
“Hey I can walk with you?” Fukari asked. “I’m not waiting for him any longer. Let’s go.”
…
Fukari threw the door to the house open with a shout.
“YOU BASTARD!” Fukari yelled, slamming the door. “You could have texted me or called me to say you weren’t coming to pick me up! I felt so stupid! Sempai was late picking up his brother, Shin cried for ten minutes, and I ended up having to walk them home because Shin wouldn’t let me go! Dammit Takahashi!”
