Let's Date

Chapter 1

  "Gabby, I need to confess something to you.", Aiden tugs my arm. I perk my ears at his words. He pulls me towards a secluded part of the school. "What's up?", I question him once we're alone. "Gabby, umm.. I don't know how to say this but I've always kept this to myself and I think it's high time I should tell you." I gulp. Is he going to say what I think he's going to. 

 "I.. I..", he stutters. A blush forms on his cheek. Aww cute. "You what, Aiden?", I urge him on. He looks directly into my blue eyes, "Gabby, I've always been in love with "."GABBY!!! Get up!!", Isabella screams into my ears. She jumps into my bed and starts tickling me. "Bells.. okay... okay.. enough enough..I'm awake now.", I say in fits of laughter. 

She giggles and gets up from my bed. "You better get ready fast, we have only thirty minutes left before we have to leave for school", she says while leaving my room. I turn my head and look at the clock on my bedstand. And just like Bella said, thirty minutes left. I get up from my bed and stretch my arms and legs. 

Well that was a good dream. Too bad it's only a dream. I sigh and make my way towards my bathroom. After a quick shower I wrap myself in a towel and go into my room. I walk to my closet to pick out something to wear. I decide on something casual and choose a shirt which says dreams with black skinny jeans. I look at the time and I have ten minutes left. 

 I hurry up towards the kitchen. When I enter, I see Aiden sitting on the counter stool munching on a croissant. He's scrolling through his phone. My stomach does a little flip. "Morning" I make my presence known. He looks up from his phone. I go over to give him a hug. "Morning Gabby", Aiden smiles at me and hugs me back. I grab a granola bar. 

"You coming with us in the car?", I ask Aiden while unwrapping the granola bar. "Naah, just came here to steal some of your food. I'm taking Betsy with me today". Betsy is his motorcycle. He owns a MV Agusta F4CC. I reach over the counter and snatch his half eaten croissant. "Go get your own food dummy", I stick my tongue out to him and finish his croissant. "Hey! I was eating that", he pouts and crosses his arms. 

"Pfft.. Drama Queen", I roll my eyes at him. I eye him when he comes towards me. He steals my granola bar, "Look who's laughing now", he taunts me while running away. "Yeah! You better run away! " I chase after him. He sprints into my living room and runs right into Isabella. They both loose their balance and Aiden falls right on top of Isabella. 

 "Oops, sorry Bella", he gets up and holds his hand out to my twin. He looks at her sheepishly and a faint blush forms on his cheeks. "It's fine Aiden", Bella takes his hand and smiles at him, "Just be careful' next time". He scratches his neck awkwardly, "Uhh yeah, I was just playing around with Gabby", he confesses. 

"I didn't hurt you, did I?", he starts inspecting her body for any injury. "No no, calm down. I'm fine", Bella grins up at Aiden. I couldn't help but notice the way he looks at her. Like she's the only girl in the world. A frown forms on my face. I can't watch this any longer. I turn around and fetch my school bag and car keys. "Bella! Let's go!" I call from the front door and walk to my red Audi TT.

I get in my car and Isabella comes out the front with Aiden trailing behind her. "Lock up after us, Aiden", I holler at him.  Aiden is our childhood friend and neighbour.Aiden's dad is a pilot so he's travelling all the time and since Aiden is the only child, he has been practically living with us since he was five. 

My parents are both doctors so they are called at odd hours. They were in the hospital right now. I sometimes wish we could spend more time with dad and mom as a family. Don't get me wrong, I'm very proud of them. But I do miss them. Isabella gets into the car and squints at her eyes at me. "What?", I question her while backing out of the driveway. "Something's wrong. Tell me what happened.", she looks at me suspiciously. 

"What do you mean, Bella? Nothing is wrong. I'm perfectly fine", I shrug. She gives me a look which says she doesn't believe me. "I'm your twin, Gabby. I know when something is wrong. When you're ready to talk about it, I'm here for you, okay?", she consoles me. I can see why Aiden loves her. "Thanks, Bella", I smile at her. 

"Anything for you, sis", she replies and turns on the radio. She settles on a country channel and sings along the lyrics. I drown myself in thoughts of Aiden and drive to school.
