History Repeating

Chapter 1

My name is Jeniffer. And this is my story.

I wipe the sleep of my eyes waking  to the sound of lightning like waves crashing on stones.

My mom and dad arguing about something losing control  then suddenly my father loses control of the wheel making the car flip over and over and over. As I was spinning I saw my life flash through my eyes, my dreams, my future, my husband, why me?Why? I ask myself Why my family? and then suddenly darkness arrives through my eyes. A few feet away my brother laid, me, covered in tears and blood;I dragged myself like a snake slithering in the grass. For these few moments, I prayed that god will show mercy. As I reached my brother he began slowly regaining his conscience screaming his name out loud echoing in through the darkness of the forest. Slowly moving towards my parents.....I couldn't believe it they were dead.There was nothing I could do, their limbs shattered into pieces like an old doll deteriorating from age. As I turned from far away help was arriving and the nightmare was over. From that day on Matt he was not the same, he did things that he would've never done.

As the memories flash through my mind I wonder to myself what could I have done to save them? As their fragile bodies laid there with no life. I get up leaving the bed wrinkly from my weight. I slowly walk downstairs each step making the boards creak. My aunt Jewels sets our plates on the table. Her features  so delicate with her long brown hair and her eyes as blue as the ocean. 

My brother with no words to say simply sitting down, his gaze fixes up to mine, he looks away after a few seconds. His eyes seemed so innocent yet full of sorrow.

"Hey Jeni you can take my car" I nod as she leaves the room I turn to Matt "You okay?" he gets up leaving my question unanswered. Who knew that in a blink of an eye I would lose my parents and everything would come crashing down. Today I will go back to school its a new year, a new life. I will start fresh. I leave the room and lock the door as I turn I feel droplets of rain pour on my face sliding down like and ice burg crashing down a mountain. I wipe it off my face and run to the car and take one last glance at my home. I had it all, a life, a future, parents who would guide me through my hardest time but they aren't here, anymore.I drive to school the sign bares the words Summer Mount High School . I see people putting their hoodies on grabbing their books and running inside as if there was a hurricane coming.

I stop at the red double doors and sigh, I will make through the day just smile, thank, and nod, I can do this. I open the door feeling the handle rusty like an old nail. Katy comes toward me and hugs me "Are you okay?" I nod "Yes I'm fine" she pulls back "Well guess what?" she says like an excited little girl "What?" she giggles "Well my grandma she say's I'm a witch I know weird but she says our family is from Salem" I sigh I don't think I could make it through the day the word family is no longer used for me. Caroline comes to me "Hey are you okay?" she hugs me tightly as if I was a teddy bear "I'm fine thank you" 

She looks at Katy "How is she?" I look at Caroline "Um Caroline I'm right here" she sighs "Hope you feel better" she hugs me again "Poor Jeniffer" she gives me one last look and walks away. I look at Katy who is shaking her head  I turn around and see Dave she shuts his locker closed and walks away. I sigh loudly "He hates me" Katy grabs a book from her locker "He doesn't hate you he still likes you Jeniffer" I look at her "I know"

We walk around as we approach the office Katy stops me "Wait cute guy alert" I turn she's pointing to a guy standing "I can't see his face" she stares at him "He has a hot back" I laugh "Your really going to pull this pyschic thing" She smiles "Yup" I see Matt grab something from a guy hands shoving it into his mouth "I'll be right back" 

I shove my brother "What was that?" he shrugs "I don't know what your talking about" I roll my eyes "Oh please I saw what you did"  he sighs and looks to the side "It was nothing" I cross my arms "Matt mom and dad wouldn't want this for you" he rolls his eyes "Well they aren't here are they" he walks off. He doesn't understand that he's only destroying himself I walk away playing the words in my head like a broken disc. Until I bump into a guy "I-uh sorry" I stutter the words bearly coming out like a whisper "Elena?" I look behind me "Um no sorry" he mumbles "Impossible" I smile "I'm just going to uh-go now"

I walk away.

Weird.

Why did he call me Elena?

"I'm sorry Stefan I thought that I couldn't be with you but I can you don't have to push me away... I can do this"
