As soon as Will leaves, Marie opens the door.
"What happened?! Was he at your house?! You better not blow this Nico!" She pulls my arm, forcing me to come inside. My mind was blank. I couldn't believe I let a guy like Will slip through my fingers. I didn't get to meet him; not the way I wanted to anyway.
"Nico?" Marie snaps her skinny fingers at me making me come back to reality. "Nothing happened Marie! I made an idiot of myself in front of him!" I sigh and let myself fall into Marie's old leather couch.
She stares at me in disbelief for a few minutes, then she sits next to me and wraps one of her skinny arms around my shoulder. "It's okay Nicole.." We stay in silence for a few minutes, before she speaks again "on the bright side.. Now we're both forever alone!" She jokes.
I start to laugh, but it's the kind of laugh you make when someone you hate made a comment, and there's nothing else to say so you laugh.. In this case, I don't hate Marie I hate myself..
Marie stands up and walks over to the kitchen. "Nico, please lets just have fun. Us two, don't think about that really cu- jerk" she smiles nervously. She's looking through the cabinets, her hand going up once in a while but it goes down most of them; unsatisfied with whats in it.
I stand up and walk over to her. "Marie I don't think I'm the person to party with you today, I'm pretry tired.. Can you take me home?" I say, scratching my head. Marie stops her snopping and stares at me "what? Why? Nicole.. You can't go! You're going to be more sad if you are alone" her brown eyes look convincing but I'd do anything to be alone.
"Please Marie"
She raises an eyebrow "okay.. Lets go" she sighs and walks over to,the fridge and reaches for the car keys. Her mom works but she gets a ride from her dad, and Marie gets her moms car during the day.
We wait for the car to warm up, although it's slightly warm outside. "Nicole I guess I should of warned you.. He does look like a player. He probably has so many other girls to get to today.." She nods like she knows.
I don't move. It doesn't matter, I tell myself. I'll wake up tomarrow to another day, and maybe, just maybe he'll be back..
