I jumped up and down excitedly, smacking my backpack into one of my two best friends, Joey, and knocking her to the ground.
"Tessa! Would you calm down?" Even though she was scolding me her voice was not cruel. She was as excited as I was.
She rolled back and forth on the ground, trying to stand up, but was unable, due to the heavy things in her backpack. I started to help her up, but instead I came tumbling down on top of her.
"How can I be calm when we are going to see My Chemical Romance... In concert... In England... With my two best friends in the whole world?" I asked her as my other best friend, Sophie, watched us, amused.
None of us had ever been out of the United States. After I had won three tickets to the My Chemical Romance concert in England I had immediately called my best buds. We were in college, and this trip was a wonderful summer escape from the laborious days of stress, tests, and homework. Right now we were in the airport, waiting for our flight to be called.
"Sophie would you please help us?" Joey glared at Sophie who was just standing thier laughing.
As Sophie refused to do anything we both grabbed her ankles, pulling her to the ground. Eventually we all got back on our feet, with the help of some annoyed attendants.
"Last call for flight 106." An intercom boomed overhead.
"Guys that is our flight. Like leaving right now!" I gasped in horror, eyes wide.
We rushed into the area where you board the flight at the exact time they were closing the gates. Luckily, they grumbled, but let us on.
As we stepped on to the plane embarrassment flooded over me. Everyone stared at us, obviously seated a while ago. I tried to hide my mortification by pressing my face into my sweatshirt. Out of the corner of my eye I saw very familiar bright red hair sticking out of a man's hat.
Joey and Sophie gasped at the exact time I did. All sensible thoughts fled from my mind as I saw Gerard Way, my star crush since middle school. I must have looked like an excited puppy dog as I flipped my head back and forth, seeing the whole band. I sprinted over and jumped on Gerard's lap, knocking his coffee all over Frank.
"Hi-i-i-i..." I giggled as I stared into his eyes, my face inches from his.
Joey immediately started laughing at me.
As she spoke her voice came out choked, as she gasped for air after her laughing fit, "Dude... You look like a crazy lady."
Sophie smirked, "That's cause she is!"
As my eyes wandered back from my friends they settled on Gerard again. He was staring, wide eyed at me, his expression a mix of fear and surprise. Had I really just jumped on his lap?
"Oh! Uh... Sorry. I do that sometimes... It's a rare medical condition." I mumbled, climbing off of him. My response came out more like a question than I would have hoped.
The giant rush of adrenaline I had felt when I first saw him was dying down now, replaced by a numb happy. It felt so much like a dream, I was no longer completely sure that I was awake.
"That... Um... Okay..." Gerard mumbled, still shocked.
"What.. The... Hell..." Frank glared at Gerard, "You spilt your coffee all over me! My ipod is toast now!"
Frank held up a blank screened ipod by its ear buds.
"Did you not see the crazy fan girl that did it?" He asked, motioning to me, "The one that jumped onto my lap and stared straight into my eyes?"
Frank scoffed and raised his eyebrows, "You really think I would believe that?"
He must have been in the middle of reading and listening to music or something, probably did not notice the commotion I caused.
Suzie and Joey started giggling as Gerard's eyes grew wide and his expression changed to frustration. I just stood there turning redder and redder.
Frank looked towards me with a sympathetic look, "It's okay, sweetie. My friend can be annoying, can't he? I am sure you didn't do anything wrong, he seems to like to blame things on other people."
"Um... Actually..." I was interrupted as my wonderful friends could not hold their laughter in anymore. They both erupted in giggle fits that confused Frank even more.
"Why are you... Oh... She really did, didn't she?" His expression turned to embarassment as he looked towards Gerard, "Uh, sorry Gee."
He turned back to me and did his famous half smile, "You seem like quite an interesting person. Spontaneous, moody, and a bit crazy. Just like me."
Gerard mumbled under his breath so that I could barely understand him, "Of course Frank always has to encourage the psycho fan..."
I turned an even brighter shade of red, partly because Frank complemented me and partly because Gerard called me psycho.
"I am like, so sorry. Agh! Maybe I really am crazy..." I managed to ramble and mumble at the same time.
Great Tessa, you meet your heroes... And you freak out like a insane person.
Woah, I am talking to myself. Maybe I really am mental?
I smiled when I saw three open seats in front of them, "So guys, whose seats are those?"
Frank smiled happily at me, "Well, Gerard, Mikey, and me all have awesome wives that wanted to visit England. They are currently in the back talking with some flight attendant. Evidently she is one of Lyn-Z's old buddies from college or something. The others somehow knew her too though."
"What about Rays wife?" I asked, frowning.
Ray looked up at the mention of his name, "Oh! She is feeling a bit sick and does not want to ride an airplane as she is."
"What about the kids?" Sophie spoke up.
"Cherry, Lily, and Bandit are being taken care of by a nice Nannie. I think she is Lyn-Z's grandma." Ray replied, "Wish they could see me, but Lyn-Z and Jamia need a break. They wouldn't admit it, so we sort of forced them to take a break."
Joey was very excited now, "Sooo... Does all this mean we can sit here and talk to you till your wives return?"
Frank grinned, "I don't see why not!"
Gerard's eyes widened and he made a face at Frank that said, 'What the hell man?'
Gerard is a really bad whisperer and I heard exactly what he said as he leaned over to talk to Frank, "Really? That girl has issues. But you... You always have to please the fans." As he turned back to us and he saw Sophie staring dreamily at him his gaze softened, "Well, I guess that's a good thing. They obviously love us a lot. I just hope they like our music and personality, not looks."
Sophie sat down in front of Gee, at almost the same time as I attempted to. I somehow did a somersault, on top of her, and landed on the seat in front of Frank, who was sitting next to Gerard.
Frank smirked at me, "Walking isn't fast enought to get to me... You had to roll didn't you?"
I smiled and giggled, but inside I was jealous of Sophie. I was not rolling to Frank, I was trying to talk to my major crush, Gerard. I sighed, but decided to forget about. There was no reason to butt heads with my best friend for something as stupid as a seat.
Joey basically leaped over me and Sophie when she saw, 'the love of her life', Mikey Way. Mikey was busy watching something on his DVD player and did not notice that me and my friends had arrived.
"Mikey!" Joey said sweetly as she gently took off his headphones.
Mikey put a pretty convincing smile that I could still tell was fake, "Autograph?"
Joey looked at him pleadingly, "Uh, I was sort of wondering if I could just talk to you. After all, it will pass the time..."
He smiled, "Okay, I guess. This is a pretty long flight and my battery doesn't last that long."
As I watched her attempt to flirt with a famous, married man my mood took a great rise in happiness. Today was going to be fantastic! Or so I thought...
