Wondering Love (A Jasper Hale Love Story)

Chapter 6

I sat with Emmett and Rose in the living room. "Where did everyone go?" I asked in a soft voice. "Edward and Alice are at school. Jasper is visiting a friend. Carlisle is at work. And Esme is running errands." Emmett explained. A dry sensation ran up my throat and through my mouth. I started pacing back and forth. "What's wrong?" Emmett asked. Rosalie looked up from a book she was reading. "I, I need to hunt." I said walking towards the back door. "No, I need to go alone." I told him kicking off my shoes. "Okay," he said leaning back against the couch.

   I ran outside looking for animals. I stood still listening to the sounds around me. I sniffed the air as I heard a deer call. I ran into the first following a deer as a smell drew my attention. Human blood!

   The smell was unbelievable. I ran off in that direction chasing after it. I led myself to a man about late 30's sitting on a rock holding his arm. He cut himself. I stood in the tree getting ready to pounce down on him. I drew in a deep breath and jumped. I crouched on the ground next to him drinking the blood. He cried out in agony as I continued.
    I drank the blood as I heard someone approaching me. I turned around still with his arm on my mouth to find Emmett and Rosalie. "Adeline, control yourself. Find the will to stop." I heard him say. I shook my head continuing. The taste was unbelievable. "Do you need help?" Rosalie asked. I shook my head no. "Addie! Stop!" Emmett yelled. He tried to pull me off of him but when he touched me he threw his hand back.
   I finished off my meal and turned around at him. "Addie. It's okay. We just need to get you back to the house." Rosalie assured me. I growled at her. Emmett stepped in front of her. He picked me up clutching me to his chest as I fought against him. I kicked and punched as I left bruises on his skin. I had to get off of him. He ran me into the house as I bit him multiple times.
He dropped me as I stared into his big golden eyes. "Adeline! What's gotten into you!" He yelled at me. I wanted to cry but I couldn't. I just snapped my teeth at him as a growl grew deep in my chest. "Adeline, please calm down." Rosalie told me. "Emmett, you too." She told him. "Stay back please." Emmett instructed her.
Emmett let out a fierce growl as I did the same. I leaped on top of him bringing him to the ground. He wrestled me as I tried snapping at him. He missed me a couple of times as I bit his shoulder and down his arms.
"Adeline!" Jasper yelled as he rushed over to me. He tired to pull me off of Emmett but I turned around and growled at him. A calm sensation rushed over me. I froze in my place as he picked me up.
"Adeline. It's okay dear. Please calm down. Your eyes are red. What happened?" He asked nervously. "She slipped up." Rosalie explained. He looked down at Emmett still calming me. "You okay?" He asked him. He stood up. "Never better." He responded.
I couldn't take it anymore. I was going crazy. I ran upstairs to my room slamming the door behind me. I leaned against the wall slouching into a sitting.
     There was knock at the door. "Sweetie. Are you okay?" Jasper asked through the closed door. "Yes!" I responded to quickly. He opened the door and walked in.
I sat up straight as I heard a door close downstairs. "It's Esme. She's home now." Jasper explained. I threw my arms around Jasper who was crouched down beside me. "I'm scared." I whispered in his ear. "Shh," he said stroking my hair. I sat in his lap as he rocked me back and forth.
   Finally, after about a few hours or so, Jasper carried me downstairs to my family. Everyone was home now waiting for us. I had my arms and legs wrapped around Jasper and was tucked to his side. Jasper sent a calm wave over me but I rejected it. He gave me a confused look and I just shrugged. I looked at my anxious family and just thought about them being calm. They all looked at Jasper.
   He tried to set me down but I just clubbed tighter to him. "You're much stronger than I am right now. I need to set you down." He told me. I nodded and slipped out of his arms and onto the ground next to him. "Adeline, what are you doing?" Edward asked. "Nothing." I lied. "You're forgetting I can read minds." He commented. I closed my eyes and hoped he couldn't read minds anymore. Soon I could read every mind in the room.
  I took a step back, dizzy from everything. "What are you- Stop that!" I cried. "Adeline, what's the matter?" Esme asked in her sweet voice. "Edward take it back!" I yelled. "What's wrong?" Carlisle asked running to my side. I immediately thought of Edward taking his power back and it went away. "What wrong with me?" I asked my voice shaking.
"I think that's your special power but we need to figure it out." Carlisle said. I was so scared I started crying.I was freaking out. "Let's go up to my office." He said. Carlisle picked up my hand to lead me there but I dropped it. "Don't touch me. I'm not sure what's wrong with me and I don't want to hurt you." I told him. He nodded and I continued following him upstairs.

Sorry it's so short. I typed this chapter on my way to school. I will probably update tonight or tomorrow. Thanks! Luv ya😘
