~part 13~

EDWARDS POV:

Bella jumped up and bolted. I just stood there like an idiot. My sweet, innocent Bella just killed a man. I decided to run after Bella. I found her in the woods crying, burried it the thick roots of an old oak tree.

"Bella," I murmered, kneeling infront of her. I brushed her cheek with my hand. She flinched away and glared at me. Her eyes rounded in fear. I cringed, I couldn't stand to see her like this. "Hush love, it's alright," I cooed.

"How is this alright!" she hissed angrily, burrying her face into her hands. I gently took her hand and cupped it in mine. Then I notticed numerous, jaggered scars which smothered the inside of her left wrist.

"What's this?" I growled, snatching her wrist and glaring at the scares. Bella whimpered as I was squeezing her wrist to hard. I loosened my grip a little. "This is self inflicted. Bella! Did you try and kill yourself!" I shouted, I was furious. I stood up and towered Bella. She closed her eyes and crumbled into a ball.

"How could you do this Bella!" I gasped. She suddenly shot up and stared at me. I stepped back noticing Bella had blood all over her hands.

"I just killed a man and all you care about are a few stupid scares, and you think something is wrong with ME?" Bella yelled, turning her back and running deeper into the woods. I grabbed her waist forcefully and stopped her.

"Bella we can help," I whispered, pulling her agianst my body. I stared into her eyes. I was distracted by a large, purple bruises forming on her neck. Bella shook her head and tried to worm out of my grasp. "Why not Bella?" I almost shouted.

"I'm scared," she whimpered, finally opening up. She stared at the ground nervously.

"The police wont get you, I promise," I said softly. She shook her head.

"Im going to turn myself in," she whispered, tears creating small dark patches on the ground.

"Why!" I boomed. One minute she was trying to ecscape and the next she was going to turn herself in.

"They should understand that it was self defence, sort of," she said.

"Bella! You attacked him!" I yelled. Her head snapped up.

"No! He raped me and left me bleeding to death in a alleyway!" She screamed, glaring at me angrily.

"Yeah, well what if you still get put in prison! You don't deserve this Bella!" I shouted, shaking her. Tears flowed down Bella's cheeks like a waterfall and the look on her face showed that I tapped a nerve.

BELLA POV:

"Yeah, well what if you still get put in prison! You dont deserve this Bella!" Edward shouted. Just like I didn't deserve you, I couldn't stop this thought from popping into my head. I went silent, ignoring the sticky trails left by traveling tears on my cheeks.

"Just like I don't deserve you," I muttered, damn I must of said it out loud! I felt Edwards grip loosen. I felt brave enough to look at his face. It looked sad, why? Shouldn't he be happy or relieved that I finally realised that he didn't want me? A cold breeze racked my body and I felt the hole in my chest ache and grow. I wrapped my arms around my chest tightly.

"Bella," Edward croaked, letting me free completely. I looked up into his unusually dark eyes which indecated that he hadn't been feeding. I shook my head and looked into the tear soaked ground beneath me. I watched the dancing shadows, trying to occupy myself while the silence continued. I could here the faint sound of the leaves rustling together and the tweeting of small birds and occasional scatter of an animal running through the branches or forest floor. Now is when I noticed how much my body was aching. I could every single scratch and cut. The worst was a very deep cut running from my tail bone up to my shoulder blade. God that guy was a sick bastard. I began to feel dizzy and everything felt as if it was in slow motion. My vision was going sideways and next everything went black.
