I woke up the next morning more tired than yesterday. Probably because I went to bed later then I usually did. I couldn't help it though. Felix and I watched movie to movie non stop. That is until I saw him crash out in the middle of the night. And instead of the stereotypical picking him up and placing him in bed, I just threw a blanket on him and went to my room and slept.
I got out of bed and stretched out my limbs and cracked a few bones in my back before heading towards the kitchen. Seeing Felix already sitting at the kitchen table with a coffee and phone in his hands. I walked by him and grabbed myself a cup before pouring the coffee Felix had made into it. I took a sip of the drink, the hot liquid making my lips and the inside of my mouth burn but I kept on drinking it. It was a good way to wake me up.
I walked over and sat across from Felix. Wishing that I had brought my phone down with me since I just stared at my friend scrolling through his phone.
"Your date is getting closer. How do you feel?" Felix finally spoke up but didn't take his eyes away from his phone. I took another sip from my still hot coffee and smacked my lips a little. "Feel like it needs to come sooner so I can get this over with." This made Felix look up at me. His brows furrowed at me, "Now come on. Don't be like that."
I rolled my eyes at him as I tried to finish off my coffee so I could go back into my room. It was taking a bit longer than I anticipated to finish off my drink since Felix just keep staring at me with that slightly angry expression plastered on his face. "You know," he spoke up again, "He could be a really nice guy. And you might want to go out again with him." I scoffed. Felix was just stepping all over my original plan. Cut that, I mean the only plan. Where my date with Mark will go horrible and we'll never have to see each other again. And after that I don't have to deal with getting into relationships anymore.
"I doubt it. It'll be a one time thing," I said with confidence as I tried to down the rest of the coffee in my cup. "And you might be wrong. Just give him a chance. For me? Please?" He gave me those damned pouty lips and puppy dog eyes at me. I always hated when he did that. I even gave in to letting him set up an online dating profile for me because of that stupid face. I tried looking away from my friend so I could reply with a no but my eyes couldn't seem to look anywhere else. Forcing me to have to look at him that. My face scrunched up before I sighed loudly.
"Fine I'll give this Mark a chance," I gave in once again. Stupid Felix. But it was nice to see his face change into a smile. I was tired of seeing that fake sad face he gives me when he wants something. "I'm glad you're giving him a chance. Trust me. He'll be worth the date." I only laughed at his response and downed the rest of coffee. I got up and placed my cup into the sink before heading back to my room. I checked the time and saw that I had enough time to get ready for work.
I walked over to my closet and pulled out my work uniform. I went and changed into to it before heading to the bathroom to fix up my hair and brush my teeth and I had to take a piss from all that coffee I drank this morning. Once I was all ready to go I checked my phone to see that I had a few minutes to spare. But instead of the usual going on my phone to play on some apps to waste a little bit of time, I actually went and grabbed my keys from my nightstand and headed towards the front door. "I'm leaving for work! See ya later!" I heard a muffled 'bye' from Felix and that's when I headed off. I got into my car and drove off to work.
When I arrived at work I could already sense that it was going to be a long shift. And I was right. It definitely was long. People had come in and out of the Apple Store I work at in our towns mall. And I've worked here for awhile to know that most of the people come in here to get help with their apple product, saying it's messed up or somethings wrong with it. There really isn't a problem to their Apple device most of the time. They really just didn't know how to work it. But I can't blame them. It was usually older people who came in for that stuff. We only see kids and teens when they're buying a new device or getting some new earbuds. As much as I want to say I don't enjoy my job, I actually do. I like to interact with the people and my coworkers are very friendly. And plus the job pays the bills.
