Jo falling fast asleep after a few sessions of laborious lovemaking; Henry pulled up the covers, and gently tucked her in.
-He picked her phone up off her nightstand, and called into work for both of them, before swiping the screen to the right, and spotting her photo application.
----------------------------------------------
-Simply out of curiosity, Henry thumbed through a few of Jo's photos; stopping in his tracks as he spotted one of her and Sean. In the picture, they appeared to be at home; snuggling close together on the couch. Below this picture, he found something that made his heart hammer in his chest.. -It is a picture of a sonogram- he realized. -Of course, it could be anyone's..(He recalled her telling him that her and Sean never even tried to have children).. But why would she have a photo of someone else's sonogram?
"Surprised you knew where to look for pictures," she spoke; startling him just a bit. "Jo, whose.." He began. "Mine," she replied; Henry observing as her bottom lip began to quiver ever-so-slightly. "I thought you said you and Sean never tried," he responded; his heart aching for her. "Well you're not the only one who knows how to lie," she snapped; nearly crumpling at the look of pity he flashed her. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked," he apologized; handing her the phone. "It's okay," she spoke brusquely. "I guess I should explain."
----------------------------------------------
"It was actually after Sean died that I found out I was pregnant.. One night at about three months in, I woke up, and saw I was bleeding really bad. When I went to the hospital, they told me I miscarried.. And everything in my life just.. went down hill from there," she sniffled; Henry pressing his lips into a firm, solemn line. "..Until I met you.. You've been like.. A breath of fresh air.. You made me.. Feel again," she said; cracking a small grin as a lone tear rolled down her cheek. Without a word, he wrapped his arms around her, and squeezed her tight; Jo crawling into his lap once again. "If I had issues carrying a baby to full term at 37, what am I going to do now if I want to.." She trailed off; biting her lip. -By saying now, is she implying that she wants to try to have a baby with him? Does she truly?-she thought; biting her lip. "I'm sorry?" He grinned; arching a brow. "Nothing," she quickly shot back. "Really? Because it seems an awful lot like you were asking about what you would do if you wanted to have a child with the man you're with now... Which would be me," he deduced; placing his large, warm hands on her hips, and pulling her closer. "Maybe one day I'd like to see how cute a baby we would make.." She admitted; blushing lightly. "According to what you just said, I'd say that day would best not be so far off in the future," he said; laying down, and propping himself up on his elbows as he gently stroked her back. "Yeah, well, I'd say that we've already put enough effort towards making a baby today," she grinned; not quite meeting his gaze. "I wasn't saying that we get to it right this second, Detective," he chuckled; pulling the covers up over the both of them.
"So did you go on my phone just to look at my pictures? Or.." She began; casually fiddling with his small ringlets of chest hair. "Don't fret. I called into work on both of our behalves," he said; tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, before gently cupping her chin, and forcing her to meet his gaze. "Are you going to be alright?" He asked; his concern for her knit into his brows. "Yes. Thank you," she assured him; snuggling closer before drifting off to sleep again.
