It was like the world froze when Milo looked up to see Nickel, his heart stopped beating and a mixed look of panic washed over his eyes. He was speechless at first, but even before he could speak he was pulled away from Nickel and into warm arms.
"Who the fuck are you?" Kazu snapped and held Milo close in his arms, glaring holes into Nickel.
"You must be Kazu, Milo has told me about to." Nickel stared eye to eye with Kazu, a annoyed look in his pale blue eyes. "I'm Nickel, Milo's guardian."
Milo flushed and tired moving away from Kazu, but the older boy's grip only tightened. "K-Kazu it's okay, you can let go now."
"Me and Milo have things to do, so if you'd-"
Kazu was not a violent person, normally always kind and a person with good intentions. But never once had he'd seen Kazu so enraged to the point he had hurt someone, that someone being Nickel. To be truthful the punch was awful, but it would bruise good and it was good enough to royally piss Nickel off.
"You little shit!" Nickel grabbed at the teen, but Kazu quickly ran off and was pulling Milo along with him.
"Kazu what are you doing!?"
"That guy just pissed me off, he was acting like he owned you!"
"He kind of does-"
"No he doesn't, you don't belong to anyone but me!"
Milo's eyes widened and his heart started to race, a flustered blush darkened his already red cheeks as Kazu pulled him into a bookstore. Hiding in the way back, both of them panting.
"W-What did you say?" Milo choked still breathing heavily.
"That guy pissed me off? Who was he again?" Kazu leaned against the wall, gathering his breath more quickly than Milo.
"That's not what I meant..." Milo blushed and looked up at Kazu. "You said that...I belonged to you?"
At this, Kazu's cheeks went aflame and he looked away. "I-I was hoping you didn't hear that." He chuckled nervously. "I have something I really wanted to tell you, kind of since I met you really."
"W-What is it?"
"Well, I've always had a hard time with people. Back when me and Kain were kids we only talked with just one another, there was never anyone else. But once we hit middle school everything changed, she started making new friends that didn't want me around. So I was alone,
"But then in the middle of the year of 7th grade, you came along. Shy, timed and scared of anything that moved."
Milo giggled softly, blushing at the soft look Kazu was giving him.
"It took a week for a us to become friends, I don't remember how but it was the best thing that had happened to me in years and you...are the best thing to ever happen to me."
Milo's eyes widened and he looked down, Kazu's hands taking his.
"Milo, I love you."
With his heat beating a mile a minuet Milo smiled, and the world turned white.
-----
"Milo, why do they want me to go away?"
"Because they, they think you're dangerous."
"B-But I'm not! Just tell them that!"
"I have-"
"Tell them I won't ever lose control again, I'll never take over."
"I think you're lying..."
