"What time is it?" Alex asked, yawning slightly as she finished waxing her project, and put the strip of t-shirt back into the bucket.
"Half three," Mr. Moore answered, "it's time to start packing up."
Charlie cracked her neck to either side, while Mr. Moore cracked his fingers. The three girls looked at them in disgust. Mr. Moore looked over at Charlie and at the exact same time they cracked their backs, and laughed at the expressions on the girls faces.
"We'd better hurry up, or Tadhg might either kill us, or leave us here for the weekend," Sam said, and they quickly began tidying away the different tools into their correct places and Mr. Moore went up and took Charlie's phone out of Mr. Kelly's speakers and threw it to her.
As soon as Mr. Kelly's room was clean, they went through the room with the circular saw, and into Mr. Moore's room.
"Sir, what's that room between your room and Mr. Kelly's room even called?" Sam asked, curiously.
"There isn't a proper name for it, but we just call it the GEAR room," Mr. Moore answered, smiling slightly.
"You couldn't come up with a better name for it?" Alex asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, it's actually called the Grab Everyone And Run room, but it was too long so we shortened it," Mr. Moore answered.
"Why Grab Everyone And Run?" Nadia asked.
"Because that's the first thing Mr. Moore, Mr. Kelly, Mr. Byrnes and I thought when the circular saw started mis-behaving when there were first years going between the two rooms," Charlie answered grinning, and Mr. Moore patted her head. Charlie glared at him while he looked at her innocently.
--------
"See ya, sir," Alex said as they were leaving Mr. Moore's Woodwork room.
"Thanks sir," Charlie said, grabbing her black hoodie off Mr. Moore's desk and went out to join Alex.
"Have a good weekend!" Nadia said.
"You too!" Mr. Moore answered, and went back into his room so he could get ready to go home.
The four girls turned right into the corridor and as soon as they reached the square area where Mr. Byrnes' office was, they turned left and walked out the door to their left, rather than the one to the right which led towards the astro-turf and where most students left their bikes. As soon as they got outside, they immediately recognized Tadhg's car.
It wasn't actually a car, as Tadhg kept reminding them, it was a jeep. Charlie ran over to her own car, while Alex, Nadia and Sam got into Tadhg's jeep.
"Shite!" Alex exclaimed, and jumped out of Tadhg's jeep and ran back into the school. Charlie shook her head in amusement, and got into her car.
After a few minutes Alex came back with her phone and three hoodies, and got into Tadhg's jeep once again. Charlie reversed out of the car space, and followed Tadgh's jeep, rolling here eyes in exasperation as she saw Tadhg turn around to to talk to the girls in the back of the car.
Tadhg suddenly stopped and everyone in his jeep turned back around to the front at the sound of a bump. Charlie got out of her own car and walked towards the jeep, knowing that something had gone wrong. As she got closer to the jeep, she saw someone's feet in front of the jeep. She ran around to the front, to see an unconscious Mr. Moore lying in front of the jeep.
Tadhg, Sam, Alex and Nadia hopped out of the car and jogged over to Charlie and Mr. Moore, and the girls looked at Tadhg in shock.
"You just hit our teacher, with your car," Sam and Alex said at the exact same time, both of them were looking at Tadhg and not at Mr. Moore.
"He's still alive," Charlie said, as she bent down to check for his pulse.
"I didn't kill him!" Tadhg exclaimed looking at Mr. Moore, "I think I just gave him a bit of a bump, he's probably hurt his ribs, judging by the way he's landed."
Charlie winced, knowing from experience just how painful bruised, fractured or broken ribs could be.
"How did you know that?" Sam asked, "How on earth could you know that he has only damaged his ribs and nothing else?"
"I've been spending too much time with John, Charlie and Alex," Tadhg answered, "we should put him in the car and bring him home, it's closer than the hospital, John can look after him at home and we won't have to wait to get a doctor to see him."
"He should go in Charlie's car, there'w way more room in there than in the jeep," Sam said logically, "added to the fact that Charlie's a faster driver so they'll be home sooner."
"On three?" Tadhg asked looking up at Charlie, and they both bent down, getting ready to carry Mr. Moore by his arms and legs, "One, two three." They both lifted him up and carried him back to Charlie's car, Nadia ran ahead and opened the passenger door for them. Charlie and Tadhg somehow managed to put Mr. Moore sitting up in the front passenger seat.
"Okay, I'll meet you at the house?" Charlie asked them as she walked around and rested against her bonnet.
"Yup, we might pop into Tesco to get the dessert," Tadhg said going back to his jeep.
Charlie grinned and went over to her own side and jumped in. As they were going out of the school car-park, Tadhg turned right, while Charlie turned left and began to speed down a small country road. Looking over at Mr. Moore every now and again to make sure he was okay and was smacking his head off the window.
------
Charlie groaned as she looked at Mr. Moore who was still unconscious before getting out of her pick-up truck, and jogged up to the house and rang the doorbell.
A young man who was about twenty-four answered the door. He had black hair and blue eyes, he was a bit tanned and stood at around six foot four or six foot five and was rather muscular. He wore a black t-shirt saying 'I'm an acquired taste' and a pair of jeans.
"Will you help me get a guy out of my truck and inot the sitting-room please, John?" Charlie asked him. The young man nodded and went out to help her, not thinking this was strange at all. They carefully lifted Mr. Moore out of the truck and made their way into the sitting room, gently placing him down on the couch.
"What happened to him?" John asked, glancing at Charlie.
"Tadhg hit him with his car," Charlie answered, "and he's also my Woodwork teacher." John looked up at her, smiling slightly, and then put a blanket around Mr. Moore. "I'll be back, just going to go grab one of Donnie's hoodies," Charlie said leaving the room.
John looked up when he heard Charlie re-entering the room. She was wearing a bulky navy hoodie saying 'NUIM Devils' on the back of it.
"It still smells of him," Charlie said smiling slightly.
"Yes, because smelling someone's clothes and then saying it smells like them isn't crazy at all," Eric said, smiling at her teasingly.
"I never claime I was sane," Charlie said with a shrug, "besides there's a weird smell in the hall and I was hoping that the hoodie would smell better." She curled up on one of the armchairs and quickly fell asleep.
John smiled slightly at Charlie and then grabbed the TV remote, turning it on to see Ralph Fiennes jumping over a desk and pulled Judi Dench back slightly, only to get shot in the arm in Skyfall. John settled in and turned the volume down so he wouldn't wake Charlie or Mr. Moore.
