"Alex!" Lucy yelled bounding up the stairs to my bedroom. "Are you even close to being ready yet!" I laughed lightly at this. "Of course not!" I yelled back down the stairs pulling an ugly plain blue shirt over my head. In doing so, it got stuck to my pony tail. I grunted and pulled hard messing it up. I continued to yell down to her. "I still need your help to-" I was interrupted by her loud gasp. "No, no!" She must have seen the look of confusion sprawled across my face because she then shouted at the top of her lungs, "You are not wearing that shirt! And are you kidding me? Take off those jeans! Aren't those the ones your aunt Lilian bought you for your 15th birthday! Ugh, no no just take them off this instant! It's a terrible sight to see!" I tried to act offended but couldn't as I burst out into a fit of laughter. She looked at me wide eyed, her azure blue eyes sparkling with humor. It was true though I must admit. The pale light-blue jeans were baggy and a terrible fit. Obviously aunt Lilian never thought to learn my size when she decided to buy me clothes for my birthday last year. But I still wore them. I mean, they were a gift how could I be so rude and not accept them. She meant it sincerely when she gave them to me since she was leaving. But the shirt? Yeah... I have no excuse for that. I looked at my sad grotesque image in the mirror. Brown hair, messy hair, to be exact, that reached down to my waist. Which I actually really loved about it. And then brown eyes, so simple, and it's not even the kind of pretty where most girls with brown hair and brown eyes are gorgeous! Yet here I am too scrawny for my own good, what's so special about that! Oh yeah nothing. I would know...I used to get bullied continuously in middle school for my supposably 'horrendous' features. But now? I'm stronger. I have met better people during my 2 years of high school, people who have helped pull me up and build my character. Looking at Lucy with a huge grin she frowned. "What? Your not gunna yell back? Get angry? Alex, I just insulted you." I just laughed. "No, I'm only happy that I'm lucky to enough to have you and the others." She smiled her eyes twinkling, then ruined it by making a sickening face and turning her voice squeaky and small stretching out every word like one of those preppy girls in cheesy high school movies. "Like Omg, like, you totally like, like me way better. Like omg." She flipped her perfect blond curls over her shoulder then tipped her head back and laughed. That's another thing about Lucy. She is the definition of perfect. Blue eyes blonde hair, fit frame that's not to skinny but not to thick. I remember seeing her in the halls for the first time and hated her because I thought she was going to be one of those girls. But she wasn't anything like them. We ended up bumping into each other while sneaking around the library. After that we just kinda became best friends, she introduced me to Keran Belendanian. Gorgeous girl, she has brown hair just like me but within her hair there were different shades of beautiful browns. And her eyes don't get me started on that beautiful emerald green. She's the type of person you always want to be around, super calm and drama free. I love her dearly. The other was Norvan Barsamian, he was quite the looker I had to say, with his black hair, electric blue eyes and great body build. he was funny and cute always the life of a party loud and reckless is how to put him, he's one of the "popular" but still considers us as his best friends. But my all time favorite, other then Lucy of course. Was Sion Belendanian, Kerans cousin. And might I add Sion, is so wonderfully attractive, with his mousy brown hair and forest green eyes. Which were similar to my fathers. Even just the thought of Sion made me blush like a fresh ripe tomato, bright and red. And there was no hiding it. So every time I thought of him Lucy would know and yell at me with excitement. I quickly turned pretending to fix the edge of my blanket knowing how red hot my face looked, considering. Once I was sure I stopped blushing I turned back to Lucy and found her staring at me intently, her gaze making me uncomfortable. "What?" I asked casually, as though I hadn't just been blushing like a manic. She narrowed her eyes at me. "Were you, blushing?" my eyes went wide for a moment but I changed my expression cooly. "No, I just had to fix My blanket, it was folded over at the corner." She watched me for a second "Uh-Huh." She clicked her tongue and for the first time, let it go without another word. I was filled with relief, but that didn't last for long as Lucy shouted at me, like a drill Sargent would his soldiers, to strip my clothes off while she went and choose an outfit for me. I did as I was told and then sat on my bed waiting. I looked down at my self. At my scars. I didn't mind Lucy seeing them. She's the one who helped me out of it and knew why. There was no need to hide them. She came back out of my closet and threw me pale light blue jean shorts with white rips in them, which looked a lot like her light blue ones. Then threw me a black sleeve top that had two white stripes circling around on the upper arm of one sleeve. I slipped the shirt on and then put a pair of black spandex on before the shorts. Just to be comfortable. Then I put on the shorts, getting my big toe stuck in one of the darn rips. I silently cursed the shorts, after that struggle, I grabbed my classic black high top converse and slipped them on. Lucy then spent the next ten minutes putting my makeup on for me. Mascara and top black eyeliner, giving me the classic version, then light glossy pink lipstick which suspiciously smelled a lot like strawberries. I rose my hands in the air and spun in a circle lifting one of my legs up for effect, to see if Lucy approved. She squealed happily. "It looks wonderful, now go brush your hair and leave it down." She demanded pointing at my lopsided pony tail, and I listened because she new how to look nice and I didn't have a clue. "I'll be waiting for you down stairs." I did as I was told brushed my hair and started to walk to the stairs. I looked at my mirror.
'Don't do it. Don't look at your self. No. Just keep walking pretend It's not there. Yeah. Okay good'
But I just couldn't help my self. I went up to the full body mirror slowly, and cautiously looked at myself. My thick straight hair reaching my waist barley brushing my buttocks was nice and soft. Looking at my face I was quite pleased with it. The light pink lipstick really brought out my tan skin to look a little bit darker. My eyelashes must I say, looked stunning and long. I love when Lucy does my make up for me. On my own I can't do anything but make myself look like a clown! I took in my body shape. I was getting thicker. That's good, I need to gain more weight. I looked at my legs and was thankful I didn't have any scars on them. I looked at my black long sleeve top glad I had this rather that blue shirt. "Oh, I almost forgot!" I shout whispered to myself, I jumped from the mirror and ran to my desk and took my necklace from it. It was gift from my father. He...well, anyways I put it on. The silver chain matched the wolf that hung from it. I smiled, my dad and I had this strange passion and love for wolfs to which my mother never questioned. I used to have paintings and drawings he made for me hung up all over my walls, and stuffed wolves everywhere, but ever since the incident...lets just say I boxed up every memory of wolves into my closet that I never dared open except for one thing, the last gift he gave me before he left this world. This necklace the shape of a howling wolf, no matter how much it burned my heart to see it, I couldn't bring myself to hide it, it reached down short but long, Just the perfect length. It was lovely, the light weight silver chain and the matching wolf. I made sure to wear it every where. It's what protected me, what made me feel strength and what was pretty much all I had left of him that I would allow myself to look at. Thinking of my father brought back a memory.
~ I looked out the window and grinned a mischievous grin as I watched my father drive away in his truck. Mother wasn't home either. I ran of out my room down the stairs and to the back door. I sat on the floor looking through the glass sliding door waiting for him to come. After about 6 minutes I saw a movement. Pure joy and excitement filled me as he came into view. Slowly as to not startle him I slid the door open. "Here boy." I said quietly. He trotted towards me his silver fur swaying along. I got down on my knees as he sat in front of me. I began petting the wolfs soft coat. "Hiya Wolf. How are you? Did you eat?" He licked my hand. I giggled. "Here lemme get you a treat." I ran inside leaving the door open and went to the fridge getting a stack of salami out. As I made my way back I found Wolf sticking his head inside. I hopped over to him and started to give him the ham. His chest hummed deeply with pleasure as he ate from me. I was happy. I looked into his gold hazel eyes that were so mesmerizing. They were twinkling happily as well. I smiled and giggled some more as he began to play wagging his tail~ I shook my head sighing at the memory of Wolf. I know what what a cliché name right? But I was 7 and didn't know what else. Wolf was my best friend. My secret best friend. Every time dad and mom were gone he would come and we'd play. But after my fathers passing he stopped coming. It's been 5 years since I've seen him. I miss them both dearly. My eyes began to water. I blinked them shut. Not letting them fall. I couldn't ruin this wonderful makeup now could I? Taking one last glance in the mirror, I was about to race down but froze. I felt it again. As if someone were watching me. Shivers ran down my spine and goosebumbs spread across my arms. I looked around and walked to the window looking out, I saw nothing. I've been having this feeling that I'm being watched for so long. I'm not sure when it started just somewhere around my fathers passing. I shuddered and shot down the stairs to find Lucy raiding my fridge. "Common lets go." She threw her fist in the air in agreement then shoved more food in her mouth before closing the fridge. "Bye mom!" I shouted
"Yeah, bye mom!" Lucy also shouted with a mouth full of chicken.
"Bye girls, have fun and make sure to be safe!" My mom shouted back from the living room. "Of course we will!" With that we ran out the door to Norvan's house. We were all meeting up there to hang out and have a good time. I really missed them. Ever since summer started we didn't really get the chance to hang out because all our family's we're going on trips. Well their family's. I stayed home with my mom as we enjoyed each others company eating ice cream and watching The Walking Dead and a bunch of chick flicks. What a great combination huh?
