⚔ ══════════════════ ⚔

One year.

Two years.

Three years.

Four years.

Five years have passed since humanity claimed success over the titans.

Five years was a long and hard journey but in the end, it was worth it. Ever since that day, humanity lived in peace once again. It might take longer than expected for them to recover, but the titans' absence was enough for them to stay happy. And now, here you are with Levi, on the balcony of your newly bought house.

"I remember everything like it was yesterday." You say, looking into his eyes.

"It's all too clear, and I could never forget." Levi replies, taking your hand in his.

"I've always wondered if this day would come, but here we are now." You smile, staring at the stars.

"Me too." He simply says.

After regaining victory, goodbyes were said as the Survey Corps split apart. Though it was a hard thing to do, they promised each other to keep everyone close to their hearts. In that way, they would never forget each other.

Even if they weren't in touch with the others, (y/n) could tell that everyone was working hard to achieve the dreams that they want. She was working hard as well.

Eren followed in his father's footsteps and became a scientist.

Mikasa became the coach of a school's volleyball team.

Armin had built a library with the ocean as the view on the back of the building.

Sasha had managed to build her own restaurant.

Krista and Ymir became police officers.

Jean raised his own kind.

And the others, well, they all made it.

"I wonder what we would be up to if the titans weren't extinct up to now." You wonder.

"Enough of your 'what if's', let's think of the present." Levi says, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. I'm glad to be here right now beside you, Levi." You say, smiling at him.

"Me too, (y/n)." Levi smiles a bit.

"Well, we should probably get back to unpacking our things." You say.

You took one last look at the shining moon and stars and headed back inside to the living room with Levi following right behind you. You started taking out your stuff from the box and placed them in their respective places.

Your lips instantly formed into a smile at the sight of your Survey Corps jacket and 3dmg. You let it out for display and continued to unpack. You and Levi had made a lot of progress but it was getting late and you called it a night.

"Goodnight, Levi." You say, curling up to him.

"Goodnight, (y/n)." He says, slightly smiling at your form.

"Am I allowed to look now?" You giggle, Levi's hands covering your eyes from behind.

"Not yet." He replies.

He continues to lead you back inside the room and makes you stand in the middle. Levi made you go out of the room this morning so that he could clean and arrange things inside and you grew excited about it.

"How about now?" You ask, obvious excitement in your voice.

"Yeah." He says, taking his hands off.

You stared at the room in awe. It looked clean and spotless as expected from Levi and everything was so organized. You happily hugged Levi and thanked him for doing a great job. He hugs you back. You let go as something caught your eye. An envelope was placed on top of the drawer. You walked over and lifted it up.

"Why does this look so familiar?" You ask, reading the back of the envelope and it hit you.

"That. That piece of paper made me realize you were something to me." He says, coming closer.

"You... kept it with you this whole time?" You couldn't help but smile at him.

"It held a great value for me." He shrugs.

You opened the envelope and took out the letter. You remembered it all too well, how you were struggling to find the words to tell him. Your eyes scanned the paper and you chuckled as you put it back in.

"I admire your courage and strength and that you're a clean freak too." Levi says, remembering what you have written.

"Oh, hey! I really do, okay?" You say, flustered.

"I like being your assistant. I like making conversations with you. I like being in your squad. I like you." Levi smirks.

"Levi! I'm so embarrassed right now." You say, hands covering your face.

"Don't be. That letter got you here now, am I right?" Levi says, removing your hands and staring at you.

"Well, yeah. I never expected it to lead here though." You say, smiling at him.

"But are you glad it did?" Levi asks, as he places his hands on your waist.

"Of course." You say, placing your hands on his shoulders.

"So do I." He says, beginning to slow dance with you.

"What's with this all of a sudden?" You ask, laughing.

"A dance to finally celebrate freedom from titans." He says.

"I love it. We're finally free, and we can do whatever we want." You smile.

"But something bothers me." He says.

"What is it?" You ask, stopping the dance.

"How I can't call you my wife."

"What are you saying?"

Before you could process anything, he was down on one knee. He makes his speech and you couldn't help but cry. You felt so happy, right in that moment.

"Will you marry me, (y/n)?"

"I wouldn't want it any other way, Levi." You say, smiling as he puts on the ring on your finger.

The end.

Sadly, there will be no sequel to this because I do not want to promise anything if I know I can't do it.

Anyways, feel free to message me whatever you like and I'd gladly reply.
