12 || Paying a Visit

You quickly pulled Ashley and Sierra, hiding behind them. The three of them were surprised at your sudden action. Zoey looked at you with concern, wondering what was going on. Sierra looks around for clues, only to be more confused. Ashley only pats your back, not saying a word. All eyes were on you, and you let out a sigh.

"H-He's h-here." You stutter.

"Who is?" Zoey asks.

"L-Levi."

As soon as you said his name, you shut your eyes, leaving the three to gasp and look around. They did in fact see a man coming towards your direction, figuring the said man who wore a cravat was your superior.

"Excuse me, have you seen cadet (f/n) (l/n)?" He asks the three friends.

Instead of getting a reply from them, they only exchanged looks of concern. You let out a sigh from behind Ashley, knowing you can't really escape from him. You stuck your head out and flinched a little as soon as you saw him, his eyes landing on you.

"May I have a word with you?" He asks, you gulp.

You stepped in front, gripping Ashley's arm lightly before fully facing him. You were afraid he came to pester you about your confession, feeling your heart race. You followed as he started walking away from your friends who were worried about you. You looked back at them with a frown visible on your face. No matter how much they wanted to pull you back, they couldn't do anything.

"You left the HQ without properly saying goodbye. Erwin was wondering why." He stated.

"Oh. Why is Commander Erwin not here?" You ask.

"He's sick." He groans, obviously not wanting to be here.

"O-okay." You reply, not wanting to say anything unnecessary.

The air grew thick, making you feel uncomfortable as silence settled. You had your sweaty palms behind you, fiddling with your fingers as you waited. He then halts, raising an eyebrow.

"You may go back." He says, facing you.

"T-thank you, sir." You say, saluting.

"We agreed to call me by Levi." He says, slightly frowning.

With all honesty, you didn't even want to say his name as of the moment. You put down your hands, and averted your gaze from him. You internally groaned, wanting to roll your eyes badly.

"I'm sorry, Levi." You force out, controlling yourself.

"Okay, I'll be leaving." He says, turning his heel away.

You stood still, waiting until he was out of sight. Once he was no longer in view, you finally let out a heavy sigh as you started to head back to Zoey, Ashley, and Sierra. As you reached them, they were now on their feet, running to you with worried faces.

"Are you alright?" Zoey asks.

"What did he say?" Ashley asks.

"What happened there?" Sierra asks.

"Just came to check on my progress here. Commander couldn't visit because he was sick so he had to check on me." You said.

They all let out a sigh of relief, feeling glad. They smile at you, and invited you to head back to the dorms with them. Their duties were finished for the day, so you spent the rest of the day bonding with each other.

"You're leaving tomorrow?" Ashley asks, pouting.

"Yeah... I wish I could stay longer, or maybe even forever." You say, frowning.

"Hey, we'll keep seeing each other, mmkay?" Sierra says.

"How?" Zoey asks.

"Well, I don't know. I just want to see (y/n) again soon." Sierra says.

"Yeah, I hope we will." You say.

"Since it's your last day, let's go do something fun!" Ashley happily says.

"Like what?" Zoey asks.

"How about we go to town and find something?" Ashley asks, smiling.

"Sounds good." Sierra says.

"Come on, it'll be fun!" Zoey says, pulling you.

You all walked with big smiles on your faces. Once you reached town, your mouth started watering. The food in the stalls smelled good and looked so delicious. Ashley runs over to a stall and you all wait for her. She comes back with ice cream in her hands. You grab the chocolate flavored one.

Next, Sierra leads the group into a game booth wherein you have to hit the cups that were stacked up. You all watch as Sierra makes her third try... and she did it! She receives a stuffed bear as a prize. When she saw a little girl pass by, she hands it over to her.

Lastly, Zoey drags all of you towards a sketch booth. You watch her grab feathers pens, handing it to each one. You shrug it off as you all started to draw and scribble on a piece of paper. She smiles in satisfaction, keeping it with her.

Ah, you'll miss them so much.

"We'll miss you so much!" Sierra says.

"I'll miss you guys too." You say, tears threatening to fall.

Zoey immediately runs to hug you, and you hug her back. Ashley and Sierra joining in, giving you a tight squeeze while saying their farewells with tears in their eyes. You could only pull them closer, smiling at them before getting in the carriage.

"I hope to see you guys soon. I had fun!" You yell, as you wave goodbye.

"We had fun with you too!" They yell, waving back at you.

Once they were out of sight, you sighed heavily. You didn't want to leave the place, and you certainly didn't want to go back to the Survey Corps. Although, you couldn't help but feel guilty as your mind wondered about your friends. It's just that you didn't want to face Levi.

Eh, whatever.

There's nothing you can do.
