Rants One :: It's Mainstream Now So It's Overrated
I absolutely hate when people do this. Something will come out and be amazing and everyone who has experience that something knows it, however, that something gets famous and then, everyone deems it overrated and cliche to like it because of that.
“You like John Green? That's so white-girl of you.”
“Yeah, you like The Hunger Games -- along with the rest of the population.”
“You're a hipster? You're so mainstream.”
“You're not a hipster? You're so mainstream.”
“You're giving birth? That's so mainstream.”
I'm kindly requesting that you not.
Seriously, just because something gets famous doesn't mean that it's any less amazing than it was before. Stop listening to people who call things cliche and do what you want to do. So what if you like it and another person does as well? That's great! Go talk about it with that person!
Seriously, it's just stupid.
