Chapter Three

Soon the train had arrived at the Hogsmeade station and with it, one very concerned James Potter. The reason for concern being the fact that he hasn't seen his beloved cousin Delphi Potter since he started rough housing with his new friend Sirius Black. When she went missing it didn't seem much of a concern as he figured she'd turn up before the end of the ride and James had new friends to distract him from his worry. However now that the ride was over and Delphi had yet to arise being evident enough for his friends to notice.

"James calm down buddy she'll turn up," Sirius chuckled at his friend's ridiculousness.

"Yeah but what if she doesn't, huh? What if she finds centaurs, befriends them, and they whisk her away to be their new leader?" Was the reply James frantically gave.

"That is completely and utterly preposterous," Remus Lupin told him.

"Besides for that to even happen you would need to be near where centaurs live and the nearest is the forbidden forest which is across the lake," Peter said reasonably.

"It could still happen!" James stated as firmly as he could in his state of hysteria.

His friends rolled their eyes at his absurdity and began to push him towards the boats. "Oi! stop pushing me!" James yelled.

"Only if you start walking towards the boats," Sirius said firmly.

"But I have to make sure giant spiders don't eat Delphi!"

"Their aren't any acromantula colonies anywhere near Hogwarts," Remus told him while trying to hold down James' flailing arms.

"What the bloody hell is an acro-whazit?!" James asked all the while fighting his friends tooth and nail.

"An acromantula is like a giant spider," Remus explained, "and there aren't any colonies near Hogwarts."

"But what if there are and they eat her?!" James cried.

"The whatever Remus said didn't eat Delphi, I see her. She's over there," Sirius said gesturing to where she was.

"Where?! I don't see her!" James said looking every which way.

"There!" Sirius said turning James' head in the right direction.

"Oh," was James' reply. "Delphi!"

Delphi turned away from her new friends to see her cousin waving frantically at her. She waved back before going back to talk to the others.

"I can't believe it..." James muttered, "I can't believe she ignored me like that!" The other boys just threw their heads back and groaned as their eccentric friend began to start ranting once more.

Quickly Remus and Sirius picked James up, Sirius had his arms and Remus had his legs. Peter walked ahead and grabbed a boat for them all, wisely letting the other two deal with the boy with the glasses. When the others reached the boat they threw James in and Peter sat on him to make sure he wouldn't get out until the boats reached Hogwarts, thinking he would try to swim to his beloved cousin. The lycanthrope and pureblood laughed at the trapped boy's attempts to get up while the plump boy just pulled out some candy to eat.

During the boat ride all the first years talked. A boat, and the ones surrounding it began to gag however when Sirius threw a dungbumb into it. The boys just laughed at this.

All too soon and not soon enough the first years reached the other side. At the arrival Peter finally let James up, much to the flustered boy's pleasure. The first years were led to a room by a seemingly strict teacher with a tight bun. The basic colors of her aura were mainly red, but also were blue, green, silver, light yellow, bright yellow and black. For her emotions based aura was dark purple and a yellow-orange showing she calm yet happy. None of the students needed the ability to see auras to know that she was not a person to cross though. The teacher, Professor McGonagall, explained the houses and the how the house points worked before walking away saying she'd come and get them when they were ready for them. After a few minutes she came back and led them to the Great Hall. As ghosts flew over their heads the doors swung open and as the light flooded into the poorly lit hallway all the new students were thinking the same thing, This is it.

A/N- Hey, sorry I've been away for so long and if this is really short. I'm not sure when the next update will be with school and life but I'll try to get it out as soon as I can, okay? But the sorting is up next! Down below is a list of my aura colors and meanings (note I don't know if they're what they actually are but were created to fit my purposes). Will be added to at a later date. In bold are the ones used.

Aura Colors and Meanings

Basic Colors (Personality) -

Red - brave

Gold - carefree

Blue - smart

Bronze - creative

Green - cunning

Silver - determined

Light Yellow - kind

Bright Yellow - loyal

Black -just

Emotion -

Yellow-Orange - happy

Burnt Orange - excited

Pink - love

Dark Red - anger

Dark Purple - calm

Pale Green - nervous

Combinations -

Dark Purple, Dark Blue, Black - internal conflict

Loose Rules -

1.) Two types of auras -basic aura for personality and emotion aura

2.) Colors of houses match corresponding house traits in basic aura

3.) Emotion aura constantly changes

4.) Colors in emotion aura can combined to mean things

5.) In emotion aura the same color can mean different thing based on combos

6.) Some emotion aura colors grow brighter, and/or larger the stronger the feeling
