An orange haired girl ran through a strange place. Everything around her was changing, "W-where am I!?" She called still running throughout the labyrinth.

"Follow my voice..." She heard a strange voice that somehow sounded familiar. She ran as far as she could in the direction of the odd voice. She opened two large dark brown wooden doors that had golden doorknobs.

She found herself standing in a brown wooden room, where nothing changed at all.

"Who are you?" She asked when she saw a man in a black suit and black top hat. He wore a devious smile.

"That doesn't matter now." He responded mysteriously, "All I care about is destroying every last one of you Gems."

"Gems?"

"Do not pretend like you don't know, Gaia!" He yelled, he picked up a golden sword and attacked Gaia. She dodged his attack, he tried again. Trying to dodge again she fell backwards. The golden sword broke her skin and punctured her heart. The girl was dead before she the ground.

Gaia woke up in her bed. Her cat, Rose, was sitting on the wooden banister pawing Gaia's hair hard enough to wake her. The brown tuxedo cat stopped when she noticed Gaia was awake. She pounced from the banister, the light orange orange scarf she wore loosened from its knot as she landed gracefully onto the white blankets of the soft bed. Gaia sat up and noticed Rose brought a letter. She gently pulled the note from the cat's mouth, she then tucked it under her pillow planning to read it when she comes back to go to sleep later.

"Are you okay?" asked Rose. Gaia was surprised her cat could talk, however she then remembered that she was always able to, who knows how.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" Gaia replied tightening Rose's scarf so it would fit comfortably again.

"You were moving around all night, you kept me awake." Rose meowed.

"It was just a dream, it felt so real."

 "Oh.. What was it about?"

"Well, everything around me was changing until I found this weird guy. He was talking about destroying a bunch of gems. He attacked me with his sword right before I woke up."

"Did this man have black markings on his face?" Gaia thought about her answer, the memory of her dream were beginning to fade. After a moment, she remembered how she was attacked. She remembered the cold tip of the weapon against her skin, moments before death. She remembered the face that wore a devious smile. The face that had ebony black tear-like markings running down his face.

"He did," Gaia answered. She put her hand over her chest, her skin beneath her night shirt was unusually rigid and rough. Rose suddenly looked very serious. She jumped down from the bed flicking her tail signaling Gaia to follow her.

They both walked all the way down the white carpeted stairs to the first floor. Rose led Gaia throughout the black and white luxurious home until they reached a black door in a white hallway. Leafa opened the door and Rose led her down the old creaky wooden stairs down into the old dim basement. There was a plethora of old shelves covered in dust and spider webs. Each shelf had its own collection of forgotten items, and old non-perishable cans of food. Rose walked on the frigid stone floor until she reached a small broken shelf with a very old dust covered book on it. "This belonged to my family for generations," explained Rose trying to open it with her paw. Leafa came over to help her open it when she asked, "How is this book here? We found you wandering the streets just a few years ago."

"It's a very long story." Rose meowed stopping Gaia from turning the page when she saw the one she wanted. "Read the first paragraph," the cat commanded.

"A princess driven to darkness by her heart break used her magic to spread curses. A girl of night rose against this, to do so she answered the calling of the gems. This girl found were the artifacts were hidden; she became the Guardian Gem of Night and Time. She journeyed this world to find the other Guardian Gems and the Warrior Gems to fight against Starilily and her magic. In the end we were and were not successful. We suffered a great lost, and Starilily's power is still in that journal. Whoever falls to it's power must be stopped! If you are reading this, then a descendant of mine has chosen you to reunite the gems! Please, save the world of Starphlix!"

-Orange Gem of Guidance, Max

"What does that have to do with anything?" Gaia asked.

"Your dream, of course." Rose meowed as if Gaia should already know. "I mean, by how you explained your dream I assumed that man would be the King of Curses... trying to destroy the first Gem's host.."  Gaia laughed. "Do not laugh at the truth told by the first Gem of Guidance!" Rose hissed.

"Rose, please calm down! This story book has nothing to do with my dream. Even if it did, Starphlix isn't even a real place."  Rose hissed jumping up and arching her back, "It is very much true!!" Gaia sighed, "Stop it. Your being really ridiculous." She closed the book and placed it on the shelf, she went up the wooden stairs back up to the first floor. Rose stayed in the basement. Her eyes glowing in the dim room, she glared at the stairs as if it were her enemy. The secrets she knew are too complicated for the human minds of this world, and so is that book. Rose must find a way to make Gaia realize she is the host of the Warrior Gem of Flourishing Nature. No one can stop her from completing the mission her ancestors completed over and over in her family history.

Even if those ancestors came from another world.
