Lindsey Harper seems like all the others. The ones that pretend that they want to help you when all they really want is to dose you on pills and keep your mouth shut. They wanted me to be ordinary and not have a single freaking problem. Well guess what? I'm not a freaking quarter that you can through in a well and wish away. Trust me, I tried.

Depressing, is a word I know to well. Therapists always try to figure out a problem thats masked with sarcasm. I was fine. They didn't understand that this was just who I was. Finally, they stopped trying.

Lindsey Harper will be no different.

I watch her as we pull up to her house. I watch as her jaw tightens and hands clench on the wheel to hide the shaking. She doesn't hide fear very well. Either that or no one can fool me anymore. She was afraid of what I would do to her life. I was a wall that she could not break down. Nor would she ever.

"Don't worry Lindsey. I won't burn or destroy your house." I saw her sigh of relief and couldn't help but add, "Yet."

I jump out of the car and preceed to walk to the door. Looking behind me I see her mouth gapping open like a fish. I smirk and think, how am I going to burn this town to the ground?

The drive to my new school was awkward as it was uncomfortable. Lindsey kept glancing at me as if trying to figure out my next move. I knew why she was anxious. It's been two days since I stepped foot in her house and I have done nothing besides adding to a conversation with sarcasm and keep to myself.

I had a plan this time and by the time I left this town it would be in shambles. So for now I acted like a trip to juvie scared the crap out of me. When in reality I don't give a damn about getting arrested. In fact, I craved it.

"Darci," Lindsey began, "please don't cause any trouble today."

I looked her in her brown eyes and smiled mischievously. "Oh Lindsey, don't you know? I'm what troubles named after."

I then left without looking back. The school was already in session since I dragged my feet when Lindsey told me to get up. School was fun once you know the rules. And by rules I meant mine. Rule 1, ignore every rule and do whatever the hell you want.

Glancing at the brick building I make myself step inside. I had a plan and I meant to keep it. Even if I died trying.

The chatter fell silent as soon as I stepped into the room. I look at the teacher gave a little smirk and salute and proceed to go to a empty seat.

"And you are?" The teacher asks.

I turn and raise an eyebrow as if he was asking the dumbest question ever.

"I'm the new student, duh."

" I can see that. I was asking for a name."

"Oh well you should have made yourself clearer. I'm Darci Kenyon." I say with my head high.

"Well Ms. Kenyon, you have detention for your disrespect," says the ugly brown haired teacher.

"Kay, well i'll see you later then."

"And where do you think your going?"

"Oh well I have detention anyways, so why the hell am I still here?" With that comment I walk out the door, and give a backwards wave to the class.

Since I ditched school earlier and decided to come back at the middle of third period, I had half an hour to kill before my next class. Wandering around the halls I made out all the exits. I plan every single prank and decide what could get me detention, suspension, and expulsion.

Finally the bell rang and students filed out of the doors. Students openly stared and shot me sideways looks. Paying them no attention I expertly made my way back to class just as the clanging alarm rings.

I took a look around and found the only empty seat was next a guy who kept on tapping his pencil on the desk. Blond hair framed his face and long eyelashes fell against his high tan cheekbones. They were turned down and I couldn't make out the eye color.

Letting out a breath I walk to the busy teacher writing on the whiteboard. A look at the equation and shake my head. Damn, I hate math.

"Excuse me." I speak harshly. I was well aware of all the eyes on me, but of course I didn't give a crap about them.

"Yes?" She answers

"I'm the new student, Darci Kenyon. I was wondering if there is another open seat?" I openly ask.

"Nope, you'll have to take that one," she answers with a shake of her head.

"Yeah, about that... well, I'm not going to sit next to a guy who annoyingly taps his pencil."

I watch as her face tightens and her jaw clenches. "Ms. Kenyon sit down or your getting detention for two weeks."

"All you had to do was say it nicely," I say sweetly.

Turning around I can't help the smirk that overcomes my face. While I make my way to my seat I see the open stares and shocked faces. They are so predictable, I think. Well all but one.

The same guy that was tapping his pencil was writing notes like it never even happened. Shock almost overtakes me until I realize why he's not like the rest. Twin white apple cord lead down from his ears to his phone. Hmm, he never heard me. I make myself sir next to him and face the front, but a tapping sound distracts me.

Turning to look at him I realize his gaze is already on me. Twin blue flames stare back at me. They are such a shocking sapphire that all breath leaves me. I try to make myself move from his gaze but find myself trapped. Those blue eyes hold me still and see all the way to my broken soul. I wasn't sure I had one until now.

Just as I am about to give into our heated stare, I realize there is a smirk placed upon his full lips. I mentally smack myself around while giving this guy a glare of hate. The smirk does not drop, but his eyes widen ever so slightly. The only clue that my glare affected him.

"So I heard, you think I'm annoying." He says incredulously. As if no such thing could ever happen. Well hate to break it you buddy, but I'm not that type of girl.

Now it was my time to smirk, "No shit sherlock. Who told you the Easter Bunny?" I say with thick sarcasm lacing my voice.

A chuckle escapes his throat as if catching him off guard. I was surprised because everyone usually gets irritated at me.

"I think I like you, Darci Kenyon."

I blink, but my face remains impassive. "Well you know my name, so I'll have to call you something, and I don't particularly want to know your name. Hmm...I got one. Jackass. Yep, your jackass."

I turn back to class and surprised how much time has passed. Damn, that jackass was screwing with my head. I smile, it really was a good name. The clock ticks and class is over. I turn to get up and see Mr. Jackass backside. He pauses and then turns to look at me. His blue eyes holds me frozen in place.

"My names Ezekiel Keller. But people just call me Zeke," and with that he's gone.

I am left pondering about him. Shaking my head I told myself, all I need was distraction. My hand goes down to my pocket were a party flyer sticks out. Thank God I walked out of third period and went through a few lockers.

Yes, tonight I want a distraction... a party. That is just what I need.
