I made sure we packed u all the family photos, then me and Jess sorted through Mum and Dad's stuff packing up anything we wanted of theirs. Our landlord had been really kind and said he could buy the furniture off us,seeing as we no longer had any need for it.Plus I needed the money for mine and Jess's plane tickets.
As we were packing up the last of our things the van turned up to take our boxes to the airport. The airport is quite far away and seeing as the family car was destroyed it was a cheaper option then getting a taxi to come back and forth because there was no way we could ever afford it.
It was four hours until our flight and we would be leaving in an hour.I couldn't help but feel emotional.Jess had gone to say a final goodbye to her friends so I decided to walk to Matilda's house. It wasn't that warm outside but there was so many thoughts and questions about Australia in my head that I didn't notice.
As I was about to knock on the door it suddenly swung open to reveal Tilda with her mouth open as far as it would open. Before I could say anything Tilda pulled me into a hug,but I couldn't help but cry.
She lead me into the kitchen but I turned down her offer of a drink as she put the kettel on.As we were walking towards Tilda's room I was greeted by her Mum with a hug,we stayed like this a few seconds before she pulled back and held me by my shoulders and said ''I'm sorry'' whilst looking at me with sympathy in her eyes.Which made me want to cry again.Tilda's Mum continued down the stairs and I walked to Tilda's room where I explained the situation and Australia.
Before I knew it,it was time for me to leave. As we said goodbye at the door we both broke down in tears.
''I promise we'll skype all the time'' I said to her with tears streaming down my face.
''I promise,I'll come and visit you'' Tilda said.
Then we had one last hug before I left wiping my tear away with my sleeves, only to be replaced with more.
