Chapter 2: Hopeless

Aphmau's POV

"Zane.. What are you talking about" I asked in bewilderment. Zane.. My main enemy.. talking to me like we were long friends. "Help me" Zane whispered so quietly I could barely hear. He let out a choking scream and disappeared into the darkness of the moon that lit little light through the forest's sheltering leaves. I let out a gasped that was followed by silence. I sat on the floor of the forest in shock for about a half hour. I sniffled as it was late October and the cold was starting to set in. I finally stood up and brushed myself off. I took a gulp of air and started to walk back to Phoenix Alliance Village I made where I was kind of lord... or at least leader. Pictures of what had happened flashed in my mind. Dawn approached and I reach my village and I saw Laurence pacing at the walls that protected the village. "Hey Laurence" I said flatly as I pasted. I was looking ahead as he reached out and grabbed my wrist with surprising force. I gasped in shock and relaxed as I saw it was him. "Aphmau where have you been!! We have been worried sick!" Laurence said with shaking anger. I shook him off and muttered "Leave me alone". I didn't want to talk about it. I scared me to much. "Aphmau..." He whispered. Annoyance flashed through me and tears welded in my eyes. "I-" I started but then tiredness shot through me like a gun. I crumbled to the ground and Laurence caught me. "Aphmau!" He scream and he tried to wake me. I felt lifeless, my vision glazed over and my hearing was muffled. I started to close my eyes and I felt a tear slowly make its way down my face. I was able to stutter a couple words "Z-Zane. So lifeless I-" Darkness took over my body.
