The flight had been four hours, which though it was shorter then the car ride last summer, was much less enjoyable, and not just because her and Jeremy had been separated (that's what they got for buying tickets at the last second) but also because she had gotten a center seat and was incredibly claustrophobic. The whole fight she was terrified (thank you, Lost!) and at every bump she got worried they were going to crash. Plus she couldn't get any work done because she had an irrational fear of people looking at her computer screen. Her parents had insisted that her and Jeremy fly to the school, even though it cost more to fly them and all their stuff there but her parents had insisted, saying that it was their way of paying her back for getting a scholarship and being such a good kid or some bs like that. She suspected it had more to do with the fact that they didn't want her driving cross country with a boy. Who, thought she insisted they weren't dating (she was gay after all), her parents still believed to be trouble. You sneak through a girls window one time and suddenly you're no longer trustworthy. Her car was already there since her parents had also insisted they hire someone to drive it to the school. When the plane ride ended she packed her stuff as quickly as possible and once she was off, she felt an odd urge to kiss the ground. They took a taxi to the school, and she loaded their stuff onto two metal carts, while Jeremy got their keys and schedules. Jeremy was smiling widely as he walked back.
"What?", she asked.
"Nothing, it's just...", he smiled even wider, "I got the cute secretaries number." He began to do a victory dance.
Niki rolled her eyes, "Can I just have my stuff now?"
"Oh yea... But uhh, you're not going to like this..."
"What?", she asked rudely.
"You're in the co-Ed dorms."
"Dammit. I was hoping to get a cute lesbian roommate. How am I supposed to do that now?", she said, only half joking. Having a cute lesbian roommate was the main part of her plan for succeeding in college.
"They only call them co-Ed dorms because they have both boys and girls in the building. I doubt they'll put you with a guy but if they do lets hope he's hot and gay."
"Can you be any less of a flaming homosexual right now?"
"I felt that Niki. Right here.", he said gesturing to his heart, "I have come to accept my flaming bisexuality and there isn't anything you can do about."
"Well, fuck, Jeremy! I never would have guessed."

After saying goodbye, Jeremy and Niki split off and went to their rooms. The whole time Niki walked there she kept picturing a cute lesbian with short dyed hair and lots of piercings but she realized she'd probably have no such luck. She made her way into the dorm. It was a two story building with a common area on one side of the entrance, a stair case on the other and hallway straight ahead. There were a couple people hanging around in the common area or talking off to side. She took a deep breath and pushed her cart into the hallway. She was in room 216. She looked at the list of room numbers on the wall.

She sighed and pressed the button on the elevator, she knew there was no way she'd be able to get her cart up the stairs. The doors opened and she pushed her cart on. Praying that her roommate wouldn't be an asshole and then realizing that she didn't believe in God so who the hell was she praying too? She elevator pinged and she got off, slowly pushing her over loaded cart down the hall. She stopped in front of her room, unlocked the door, took a deep breath and stepped into the room...
