Somewhere in the Horse Head Nebula, 5129 A.D.The tall man in the long coat leans on the center console and says to his blonde companion, "Told you Barcelona is amazing! So, now it's your turn to pick!"
The blonde thinks for a second before an idea pops into her head. "Well, I was hoping we could check in on a friend of mine. You know that one I've told you about before?"
The man thinks for a second, and has this look of understanding. "Oh, that one you went to school with. What's going on there?"
"Well, I usually call, but I haven't talked to her in a little while and she'll bite my head off if I don't let her know where I've been all this time." As she thought of her friend, green-blue eyes blazing and book in hand ready to hit her over the head, she laughed a little. "At least, I hope not!"
The tall man nodded his head, a small smile as he heard of this new human he gets to meet. "No problem, just tell me where to land!" His coat made a swishing noise as he moved around the circular console, placing one hand on a sort of throttle lever and the other on a dial with dates inscribed on it.
Seattle, Washington, Late 2005 A.D.
Portland, Seattle, Vancouver. All over the Pacific Northwest, people have been disappearing from the major cities' streets for weeks. The scary thing? No one has seemed to notice. Well, no one except a nineteen year old girl with what people call a Harry Potter "addiction." First her friend drops contact, then her boss suddenly stops coming to work after not missing a day in over ten years. She can't help but be incredibly suspicious, "But what can a bookstore nobody do?" She thinks to herself every time she sees that empty chair in the office. The police won't bother looking, so she decided that this won't stop her from living what is considered a normal life.
Then, on a windy day in mid-January 2006, she discovers that there's so much more than normal to see, to experience, to live than what was thought before.
