Wendy's POV
Wendy looked out the window and watched the foliage passing by.
I hope I'm not too much trouble for Erza and the rest to have on this quest. I know it's dangerous and I don't want to be in the way of anyone.
"Wendy?" What are you daydreaming about?" Carla asked. The white cat was sitting on the table that separated Wendy from Gray, blatantly ignoring Happy watching her from Gray's shoulder. Gray was still intently reading his book, The Ice Storm. Lucy was listening to music, while Erza was staring straight ahead, most likely thinking. Natsu snored in the background. They had been on the train for a little over two hours.
Wendy turned to Carla.
"Oh, nothing. Just thinking about the quest," Wendy said, hoping that would be enough for Carla to leave her alone.
Sadly, it wasn't.
"Come on child, what is on your mind?" Carla prompted.
Wendy sighed. "Okay, okay. I just hope I'm not too much trouble for anyone on this quest. It's S-class and I'm not even past the first floor yet!"
"You shouldn't be worried about being trouble, Wendy," Gray said, looking up from his book.
"But I am worried, Gray," Wendy said.
"I wouldn't be. If Erza had a problem with it, she wouldn't have let you come along. And remember, you're a lot more powerful than you think," Gray said.
"Everyone has a first time for everything. This is your first time going on an S-class quest, albeit with other people."
"Okay. I just don't want everyone to keep worrying about me since I'm so much younger than you all," Wendy said.
"Wendy! Stop being preposterous! I will always be looking out for you, as will everyone else. If worst comes to worst, I can fly you to safety!" Carla said.
Gray smiled. "Your cat's right. We all look out for each other, regardless of age or size. And you've got a pair of wings if you need them."
"Well, okay," Wendy said, still unconvinced.
"You might feel differently when we're off this train and you don't have as much time to think," Erza said suddenly.
"Erza! I didn't know you were listening!" Wendy exclaimed.
"I'm always listening. And what Gray said is correct. I wouldn't have let you come if I didn't think you were capable of it. And all of us do look out for each other, and we expect the same from you. Don't ponder over the upcoming situation, Wendy. Just go along with it," Erza said.
"Okay," Wendy said.
"Good. We're almost here anyways. Gray, would you like to do the honours of waking Natsu up?" Erza asked.
"My pleasure," Gray said with a wicked grin on his face. He closed his book and created an ice hammer with his magic. Wendy watched as he held it over Natsu's stomach and came down with a hard blow. Natsu startled awake and Lucy yanked off her headphones at the suddenness of the situation.
"Hey, who did that, where am I? Ohhhh......" Natsu said as his motion sickness set in.
"Hahahahaha..." Gray laughed.
Natsu turned to Gray, angry as ever. "I'm gonna get you back for that! Just wait until I'm off....... this....... thing........" Natsu said as his head smacked down on the table.
"No going back to sleep, Natsu, we're here," Erza said. As the last word left her mouth, the train screeched to a halt and everyone jumped out of the booth. Erza and Natsu began to grab their luggage, while Gray and Lucy put their book and headphones away.
