She was cute. I regretted snapping at her, but I think she forgave me when I apologised. She had crazily pretty lips, and I found myself fantasising about them as I sat next to her during music, her voice a melody on its own, as she went through the notes of one of her favourite songs.
"Pink, pink lemonade, and does he kiss you 'til your lips explode?"
Her lips formed the words as I gazed at her long, thin fingers, darting up and down the keyboard slowly. She dragged the words out, making the song slower and more beautiful than heard on the radio.
I found myself almost nodding in reply to her words, forgetting that they were not hers directly to me, I liked the way that she felt no need to turn the he into a she, not so defensive over being straight that she'd ruin masterpieces to confirm heterosexuality.
"So do whatever you must, love, do whatever it must take."
I watched transfixed as she finished tapping the keyboard, and looked at her blankly when she clicked her long nails in front of her face. "It wasn't that bad, was it?" She said, startled, obviously thinking she'd paralysed me with awful notes. I shook my head, at a loss for words. Unusual.
"It was perfect," was all that I could get out. She blushed, tucking a strand of straightened hair behind her ear and looked at my hand, placed on the side of the keyboard. "I like that song," she mumbled, looking at me through long black lashes. "Do you?"
And if I could have pressed my lips against hers right then, right there, making her lips explode in the best way possible, Isabel, you bet your life I would have.
