"What?" I snapped as he stared at me - creepily, for the fourth time since we had left the music classroom. He blushed, not answering.
I was waiting for April, she wanted to show me around the small town that I had only just moved to. 'Ambleside' , it sounded cheerful, and I must admit that the beaming sun even in these late September nights lifted my mood drastically. "Mum, I'm going out with a friend. I'll be home before 7." I stated, my face ice cold as I spoke into the phone. I could not stand my mother. She was selfish and arrogant, and moving us here was her attempt of cutting her own nose off in spite of her face. I miss dad.
"All okay?" Harry asked cautiously, picking up on my tone. I nodded, not willing to go into details with someone I had met an hour ago, and flashed a fake smile. "Do you like it here?" He said, puppy dog green eyes staring into my own, I nodded again, deciding I wasn't in the mood to talk, but when his face fell like he thought he had offended me, I elaborated. "It's quiet and I miss home, but I guess I haven't really seen a lot of it yet. April is taking me out to explore tonight, oh, do you know April?"
"April? Oh yeah, I've- I've seen her around a few times." He seemed to stutter, I raised my eyebrow at him as April slowly approached.
"What are you doing here?" She drawled, I could feel the hatred in her voice and it made me cringe.
I snapped my head around to Harry quickly, not understanding fully what was going on.
"April," he whispered.
"Don't talk to me. Isabel, we're leaving. Stay away from her, pig." My eyes widened as she glared at Harry, reaching out my hand to pull me away. "Wait!" Harry exclaimed, as I started to follow April.
"April, I'm sorry." He croaked, emotion flooding through his voice. I looked between the pair, completely bewildered as a crowd seemed to form around us. April stopped still in her tracks, looking at Harry with less of a glare, and I thought I saw a glimmer of her own emotion in her eye before I saw it turn to mischief. "Are you?" She mocked, pouting at him as hungry teenagers circled us. Only I saw her hand dart to her drinks cup and pull the lid off, before she threw her banana and peanut butter smoothie all over his long hair. "Asshole," she muttered, turning on her heel quickly as I trotted behind her, like a puppy dog to her owner.
