Final Chapter: Your Eternal Peter Pan

Sehun who was heavily panting approached both you and Kai. He bent down to calm himself and pulled you to his side after.
"Kai, why are you doing this?" Sehun asked him, slightly panting.
Kai, however, remained silent and looked at Sehun. He pulled you back to his side.
"Kai, seriously... Why are you doing this? Why did you lie? You knew the truth. You truly do. But, yet, why? You're deceiving me," Sehun said with his gentle voice.
Kai looked hesitant to speak. You looked at him carefully, trying to observe his feelings and his thoughts. You noticed he was sweating nervously.
"You wanted to know the truth, Sehun?" he finally responded.
Of course, Sehun nodded. He seems so desperate to seek the answer as to why his confession was interrupted.
"Ah, what do I do? I lied to you again. My head's spinning so much, right now. I love you so much that I could not even do anything right. My feelings that adore you, still, are distracting me," Kai said looking down. Then, he raises his head back up and looked at Sehun.
"Sehun... That time you told me that you loved her during middle school, I didn't tell you that I already loved her before. You were my bestfriend, I couldn't possibly hurt you. And you were also friendly with her as well that I couldn't just interrupt. The words that our classmates used to call you... Pig, boar, glutton, ugly, hideous man, they all started from me. I thought maybe if people started looking down on you, she would lose hope on you too. But, I was wrong. She was unaffected. Both of you were still close. It really frustrated me. I couldn't do anything anymore about both of you guys' friendship, but I still wanted her away from you. I confessed to Hana, so I could get close to her. But, I miserably failed, again. Then, I heard you confessed as well. You were rejected, I felt glad. Maybe, if I did, she'll give me a chance. But, time passed by too fast. We've already separated our ways towards our future," Kai explains softly. He looks at you, now. "But, then, I saw you again. During the event. I was happy. Really happy that my smile almost reached my ears. You were unable to recognize me, as I thought. I planned to talk to you more at that time. But, Sehun, then, invited you out first. He took my chance. I saw Sehun's look on you. He was happy too. Very, very happy. I've never seen him so jolly. I felt hopeless. I've been seeking for the spotlight all this time, but someone already took it before I do. I lied half of my stories to you to take that spotlight away from him. I'm unforgivable," he ended. He hid his face with his hands.
"I loved you so much. I wanted that spotlight, but someone else has it."
Your tears slowly fell down slowly.
Sehun was frozen over the side. Your head is spinning right now.
"I never knew," you said softly. "That you have developed those feelings for me," you continued and looked at Kai. "Kai, I'm sorry..." Then, you looked at Sehun.
"I remember everything now. That's not all the story, right, Kai?"
Kai looked at you. His face looked dejected and poignant.
"Sehun, show me your arms." Sehun took both of his hands out. You placed down his right arm. You are left with the arm. Slowly you rolled up his sleeve. It has a scar. "Sehun, do you know how did this happen?"
"I fell down from the stairs and my arm was caught by a sharp thing..."
"How did you fall down?"
"It was after school. I was the only person at school and I just clumsily fell down from the stairs," he responded.
"Wrong," you looked at Kai who looked fearful. "Kai. Kai pushed you down. I saw everything," you said.
"I could not accept your confession before, Sehun. Because I thought that if I did, I fear that Kai would've hurted me too. When I saw Kai pushed you down, I saw envy. Right, Kai?"
Kai slowly nodded his head. "Sehun... I'm sorry. I've done so much bad things because of jealousy. I'm not worthy for someone like her," he said crying silently.
"Jongin. You who hurted Sehun, you who played with my memories, and you who attempted to play with my bestfriend's feelings. I don't think I could ever accept your feelings towards me," you told him.
"Yeah," Kai sniffed, then, chuckled softly. "I understand. Well, see you around." He left without another word.
You sighed of relief and fell down on your knees. Sehun tried to catch you back up.
"You okay?" he asked.
You smiled. "Ahh. I hate it when I hurt someone's feelings. But, I realized that I will hurt myself if I lied to how I feel about them," you told him.
"Yeah, yeah. You did the right thing," he said and placed his beanie onto yours. "The concert is still ongoing, will you come with me and the other members?"
"Of course!" you said enthusiastically. Who would reject such an offer anyway?
He held your hand tightly and ran with you downstairs to the stage.

Both of you finally arrived to the stage. Chanyeol just finished his special number. It's time for the members to gather up for the next song.
Sehun let go of your hand. "Wait there, okay?" he said. Then, went with the members inside the dressing room.
It didn't take too long until they come out from the room. They looked fresh as ever as they come out of the door.
Sehun went to you and held your hand again.
Together, with the other members too, you went to the stage.
The stage was wider than you thought. There were many fans from top to bottom. The view looked quite amazing. It's your first time on a concert stage.
Suddenly, the song "Peter Pan" played across the whole area. It was louder than you thought.
The first verse started with D.O and Baekhyun. They approached you as they sing their part.
Baekhyun and D.O held your hand and walked you forward onto the stage.
Lay ran with a chair and placed it behind you. Then, he pushed you down gently for you to sit down.
Altogether, they sang the chorus. The sweet melody flowed in the air peacefully. The crowds were quietly waving their glowsticks up to the soothing melody.
The rap part was played by Chanyeol, Sehun, and Kai. One by one, they held your hand.
Kai was the last one to hold it. He looked different from a while ago. He looked a bit happier now. Has his burden disappeared? Kai actually looked sort of charming, you thought.
The song stopped.
Sehun who was behind you went infront of you.
Behind his hands were bouquet of flowers. He knelt down on his knee.
You became a little nervous.
"Hi," he started nervously. "Remember during middle school, I confessed to you, but I got rejected?"
The crowds boo'ed. Sehun chuckled.
"Well, that's the past already. I'm quite stubborn for not accepting that rejection. So, I came looking for you by making this song with everyone. Finally, I found you, my Tinkerbell," he said and took out the flowers. "Let me ask you again. Do I get an X or an O?"
The crowd went to chaos. Some said O, some said X.

Sehun worked hard in the past and conquered all the struggles just to be your boyfriend. He also made a song to attract your attention. He had slight fights with Kai just to get you back from his heart.

What is your answer?

"Sehun," you smiled. "It's an O."
The crowd, once again, went chaotic. Some clapped, some boo'ed.
To you, it did not matter. You accepted his feelings not because you felt bad for rejecting him from the past, it's because that's what your heart says.
The confettis exploded and the song continued.
Sehun carried you from happiness.
And the concert ended with warm hearts.

After so much trouble, you have found the mystery behind Peter Pan. Sehun was the Peter Pan who had to fight with Captain Hook just to take you, his Tinkerbell, back to his heart.
