POP!!

POP!!

"Natsu, why are you making so much noise?" Lucy Heartfilia mumbled as the love of her life made popping sounds against her skin.

"Because I wanted to wake you up." Natsu pleaded childishly.

"Your wifey needs her sleep or she'll eat all the food in the kitchen." Lucy groggily murmured, half awake and half-asleep.

She turned over on her side to meet Natsu's eyes, the dark onyx to her chocolate brown. She smiled at him as he drew imaginary designs on her skin. She still couldn't grasp what had happened to her over the last few days.

"Natsu, what are going to do when we get back?" Lucy took a moment and became serious.

"Get married, have another honeymoon, make kids, and love each other infinitely." Natsu made it all sound so easy like it was going to figure itself out. She knew that his father's company would be his in the future but maybe he would want to go to college, maybe even get a degree in something that didn't have anything to do with his father's business.

"You make it sound so easy, I wish it could be that easy," Lucy whispered as Natsu snuck his hand into hers.

"That's because it is that easy; I'm gonna be a king and you'll be my queen, there is nothing that I don't want to give you or do for you." Natsu meant what he said and would go to the ends of the earth to give her what she wanted and needed.

"Let's not get into the heavy details of this story and enjoy the little time we have now before we have to be busy." Lucy smiled, finally feeling the urge to stir and get out of bed. She grabbed the closest t-shirt and pants that were in the room.

"How about some breakfast? I always enjoy your cooking and we haven't eaten anything yet, perfect time for pancakes." Natsu scooped Lucy up in his arms and carried her downstairs to the kitchen.

Lucy couldn't get over how perfect the house was; the cottage was an understatement compared to this Island. Her heart sang and jumped as she thought about the life she was living. Her thoughts always rang back to her father. She hadn't seen him since he went for his meeting and by now she was sure that he would be back home.

She walked over to the refrigerator and started taking out her ingredients. When she and Natsu would go exploring, the house was restocked and cleaned before they would get back. It was like a weird version of Twilight if you asked her but no vampires and werewolves, making her wonder if they did exist.

"Natsu, do vampires and werewolves exist?" Lucy asked without thinking about the question first.

"Babe, you've been reading too many mythical fiction stories." Natsu was puzzled by her question but he didn't want her to panic if he were to ever tell her that does exist and that some of his classmates were like that.

"I have but dragons and fairies exist, why can't werewolves and vampires exist?" Lucy seemed a bit frustrated with Natsu, her want to know was making her antsy. He smiled at her desire to learn even though she had learned almost everything there was to learn but that was her world, not his.

"They do exist but I don't freak out too much. Some of my classmates that you used to see were vampires and werewolves." Lucy's heart jumped, making her realize that wondering if they exist and having met one are completely different.

"See, that's why I didn't want to tell you anything. The look on your face is not one that I want to see." Natsu poked at her blushing cheeks.

"Alright, alright; I wanted to know but who were they exactly? I tended to a lot of the students, mainly soccer players and football players." Lucy thought about the teams.

"The teams at school mainly consist mostly of vampires and werewolves. Vampires are defensive players while werewolves are offensive players. Vampires that you know from folklore don't drink blood, they take your life energy and werewolves are werewolves, they're aggressive and fast so they take care of offensive positions." Natsu hoped that answered her question.

"Huh, I wonder if that was why I always felt super sleepy when a couple of members of the teams came to see me." Lucy thought it made sense that she was tired when certain members came to see her.

"Maybe, vampires eat any and everything but if they were snacking on you, I'll have to go find the guys and kick their ass. Probably because you were super pretty and cute and you smelled nice. I thought so too." Natsu smiled and leaned over her shoulder, kissing her neck as he wrapped his arm around her.

"Natsu, don't do that; I'm cooking and the food will burn." Lucy chided but leaned into him nonetheless. Their peace was interrupted by the phone ringing, prompting Natsu to go pick it up off the receiver.

Lucy watched as he walked into the living room, taking a call that had made an appearance out of the blue.

**********

"Hello," Natsu answered, a regular and cliched way to answer a phone.

"Natsu, are you alone? We need to talk." His father spoke cautiously over the phone.

"Yeah, hold on." Natsu smiled as he walked into the living room.

"King Zeref is coming here to see you and Lucy. He heard about what happened and wanted to see you right away. I think he heard about Lucy's lineage as well, not many fairies still exist." Igneel explained.

Natsu went cold, a feat hard for any fire-born species of dragon. Hearing that Zeref was coming was not what he wanted at any time during his time with Lucy, making matter worse would be that he heard about Lucy and where she came from. He had heard the stories of what Kings did to fairies, he wouldn't do that to Lucy. He needed to go home with Lucy though, a king is never to be rejected.

He walked back into the kitchen, worry evident on Lucy's face about why Natsu walked out.

"We have to go back home." Natsu wanted it to be quick. Lucy smiled, she understood that sometimes you couldn't do everything your way.

"Okay then, we'll go after we eat something." Lucy was disappointed about not being able to spend more time with Natsu and getting to know him even more. He was a king and when he had to go, he had to go.
