So, my name is Natalie Parks. I am a senior at Willow High School in Crowley, Louisiana. At my school i am not a total nerd but i am also not popular. My two friends Tiffany and Chelsea are pretty popular. Tiffany has a boyfriend named Nick. When i was born my father left my mom and I. He took my sister and now he lives in New York.
"So, it is the last day of break. What are we going to do?" Tiffany asks. Tiffany and Chelsea have been at my house for 3 days now.
"I think we should go back to freshman year when we had all the time in the world to think about our future" Chelsea complains.
"Speaking of that." Tiffany gets up and grabs an envelope from her bag and turns to us. " I got a collage letter back" Chelsea and i both stand up as Tiffany is clutching the envelope.
"What does it say?" I ask staring at it.
"Where is it for?" Chelsea looks at her
"It is for a photography school in New York" We both stare at her silently telling her to open it. She nods, turns around, and rips the envelope open. It takes her a few seconds to read it then she turns back around.
"I got in!" she yells. We all cheer and hug each other.
"Dear Ms Rose,
We were ecstatic when we read your essay. Plus your photographs were better than most i have seen. We here at the University of New York would like to offer you a full scholarship to our photography program. You will be working alongside world known photographers for the next four years. I hope you consider us and hope to see you next fall." When she finishes reading, she is shocked
"a full 4-year scholarship? Oh my gosh i need to sit down" she extends her hand behind her trying to find my bed. Then sits down
" So are you going to go?" Chelsea asks. Tiffany stares at the note then looks up at us.
"yeah. I'm going to New York. I'm going to New York!" She stands up and we all hug again
"okay i have to go home. Break the news to my parents" She grabs her bag and walks out.
"Wow. Tiff is going to New York to be a photographer" Chelsea shakes her head in disbelief when we both know that we will have to let her go.
