Ashley sighed in frustration as she missed her target. Today she just couldn't concentrate. Ever since her fight with Eduardo, her thoughts were jumbled.

Ashley rolled her eyes at herself. Since when did she let some guy jumble her thoughts?

She shook her head sadly and put her guns in the holster.

Honestly? The fight was probably her own fault.

For the past few weeks he had been distant, angry. If she tried to talk to him about it he would clam up and give an annoyed glare.

Of course her thoughts drifted to the what if's.

What if he's in trouble?

What if the guys had a falling out?

And of course,

What if...he was having an affair?

The thought made her want to scream at him again. And that's exactly what she had done today.

She tried prodding it out of him but when that didn't work, pent up anger found its way into their words.

Ashley wasn't going back to apologize. If the man she loved couldn't trust her, then this was relationship was built for failure.

Angrily, Ashley whipped out her twin guns and shot at the target.

Bullseye.

She froze hearing a tree branch crack nearby and spun around.

To her surprise, Eduardo climbed through look sorrowful and grim.

She sighed and turned back to practice. It didn't make it easier that the man her thoughts dwelled on was right behind her.

She felt his hand on her arm but shrugged him off. She didn't trust herself not to slap him.

"Ashley." He said firmly.

Calmly, she turned. Her eyes glinting coldly.

"What do you want." She phrased it as 'I really don't care. Go away.'

"Damn it woman, hear me out." He growled.

Ashley rolled her eyes and looked at him impatiently.

"I'm...sorry about our fight." He ground out, cheeks turning pink.

"Do you even know what the fight is about?" She asked in frustration.

"You're angry because I'm not spending time with you?"

"Idiot! I wouldn't have minded that, but going out late, coming in the morning, avoiding me, avoiding questions...w-what the hell am I supposed to think?!" She cried, voice cracking at the end.

Eduardo went silent for a moment before snapping his eyes to hers.

"You...you thought I was having an affair?" He asked incredulously.

"All I needed to see was the lipstick stains." She said bitterly.

"Ashley, god this is going to be sappy, I love you. Not a regular old girl. I was out so much because- er- I-I was getting you this." He held out a box.

Ashley hesitantly opened the box.

Inside was a heart-shaped necklace with an engraved E and A.

"You aren't cheating on me, right?" She asked weakly, blushing red.

"You probably would've killed me by now." He chuckled in amusement and pulled her into a hug.

"You're right." Ashley smiled as her thoughts once again became clear as day. Eduardo was one hell of a guy.
