Xenia's hoof was bleeding badly. She hadn't even noticed it was bleeding until her whole leg was red.

She didn't want to attract other animals to her so she tried to wipe off the blood with a nearby big leaf. Her tactic didn't exactly work. Now she stood out because of her leg more than she stood out because of her white body and pearly white mane."Oh well..." she quietly murmured to herself.

Xenia found a nearby stream and rinsed out her bleeding hoof. She then continued with her journey to her home. As she passed by some plants, she took in the wonderful sight of fresh dew cascading down the multiple leaves. Birds in the trees nearby sang tunes of beauty and delicacy to the world. Xenia continued on, still looking and listening to the world around her.

A few hours of walking alongside nature, she finally came home. In front of her stood the entrance into the High mountain. Xenia trotted in to a shower of beautiful light. She stood there until her eyes adjusted to the shimmering light. As soon as they did, she called Emilie.

"Emilie, how many times do I have to tell you to not open the light openings?"

A young mare trots down the geode stairs. Emilie was beautiful. She had long, flowing strands of hair in her light brown mane. As she spoke, her white coat glimmered because of the geodes.

"But I thought that it looked beautiful. I mean, it was really dark in here so...Please, mother, can we keep it like this?"

Xenia softened at her eldest daughter's pleading look.

"Please?"

She looked at Emilie. "Okay, fine. But close the openings at night, or else we will be cold." Emilie bounded further into the mossy, old geode mountain castle, happily laughing. Xenia walked down the main hall of the castle to her throne, her hooves clunking on the floor. Her throne was made of amethyst and crystallized quartz, its fine craftsmanship reflecting more light across the palace.

The royal family did not have servants at their use; all family members hated to be pampered. They only had guards and servants at the Myst Palace, and it was way down the mountainside. Guests and animals asking for advice always came to the public palace, not the royal home. Now focusing on her injured hoof, Xenia went to her quarters to groom herself and tend to her hoof.

After fixing up her hoof, Xenia went out into the hall to find her 13 daughters. She wanted to know what were they up to again. She treaded lightly on the crystal floor so she can sneak a peek on what they are doing.

She found Emilie absorbed into a book about magic and fantasy writing. Xenia also noticed that Natalie, the second oldest, was pouring over her lessons, her pinkish mane in the way and Aurie, the third oldest, was brushing her yellow green mane. The fourth eldest, Raina, was chatting with Elizabeth, the 5th eldest and Sania, the 6th eldest, was taking a nap. Katherine, the 7th in line, was tending to the large amount of flowers she had in her room and Musica, the 8th, was tying her extremely long lavender mane into a comfortable knot. The 9th, Apple, was trying on a pair of new accessories and the 10th, Abigail, was doing exercises. The 11th, Holly, was putting on a herb mixture on her face and the 12th, Isilla, was giving herself a hoof treatment. The 13th, Mithra, was drawing something.
