MINECRAFT Book 1: A Story of Survival

Chapter 2

As a huge spider leaps at me, the weirdest thing happens. In mid-air it flashes red, catches fire, and disintegrates. Then the zombie does, and then the creeper. What's happening?

Then an arrow crashes through the window. There's a hook attached to it, and that hook grabs the collar of my shirt. I'm pulled out of my house and into the air.

Then I fall.

The world is rushing past me at the speed of sound. In fact, as I'm falling, I hear a sonic boom, so I really am flying at the speed of sound. And then... WOOOSH! I smash into the water, somehow without getting hurt. The water explodes around me, and I shoot farther and farther down. But then I spot light below me. I shoot father and farther into the water like a bullet, until the water gets shallower, and shallower, and shallower...

The water turns into a stream, and pulls me into a room made of cobblestone and some other block. It looks like brick, but the bricks are a deep, dark red color. Very unusual.

"So, how do you like the nether brick? Just put it in last week."

I spin around faster than ballerina.

Standing before me is another person. He has tan, Asian looking skin, pitch black hair parted to the side, and he's wearing really thick, and sparkly blue clothes.

Curious, I ask, "What kind of clothes are those?"

He looks down and laughs. Wiping his eyes, he replies, "This, my friend, is diamond armor."

"What's that?"

"Punch me as hard as you can."

"Okay....," I reply hesitantly.

I saunter over to him, bring my fist back, and throw it forward at him. When it collides with him, I hear my wrist break with an ear-splitting CRACK. My vision goes dark and I feel myself drop to the ground. Then I black out.
